If we are out of combat for any reason that's not absolutely necessary, you're pulling too slow

the group matters more than the one solo person… if the GROUP isn’t playing how you want to play, just leave the group instead of complaining…

it’s not easy content for people who have never done it before… just calm down and leave group instead of forcing your playstyle on others.

But it’s cool for others to force their playstyle on me.

The hypocrisy never ends.

if there is a group consensus among four people in the group about how to play, which is slower paced, then yes, it is toxic for you to try to force your playstyle on the other four people…

four people > one person

We don’t know the wants of the rest of the group. If the tank is slowing down for zero reason it is unacceptable.

did you ask the tank why they are slowing down instead of complaining about it?

did you ever ask them or just assume u are right and complain about it?

The answer doesn’t matter. If we’re just standing around when there’s no reason to, that’s a problem.

It must be tiring bending over backwards playing devil’s advocate all the time.

how would you know there is no reason? did you ask anyone? or did you just complain about it?

im just explaining how you are being toxic… it’s quite easy because you are being very toxic in a very blatant manner.

think about it this way: the highest key you have ever tanked is a 5 on your DK… how would you feel if you jumped into a 10 for the first time and wanted to take things slow because you aren’t used to being hit so hard by +10 level mobs and then someone was complaining that you have no reason to go slow because +10s are easy content?

since you’re learning, it would justifiable for you to want to pull one pack at a time to learn how much you can handle.

By using my eyeballs

I would be okay with that, because by the time I’m doing 10s, it’s expected that I have a solid understanding of my class and role. They would be making a valid point. I also have the mental fortitude to appropriately deal with someone who thinks negativity of me.

Unless you have a rogue or a feral
Druid, in which case please give us a fraction of a second to stealth between packs.

(Not in normals or heroics, obviously, pull everything to the boss in there)

Maybe you keep dying…

I find the opposite. Once they get into a safe zone of low and slow, they tend to have problems breaking out of it.

I think the issue with your scenario is that someone would do such a huge jump with no prior experience when the mode doesn’t require you to do such a huge jump.

If someone goes into a 10 for the first time never having tanked above a +5, that’s the problem. Going slow because of it is just icing on the cake.

Don’t go into situations where you’re clearly in above your head.

Practice like you play. Exactly.

oh i get it… you can see through the game into their household and tell if they have a loved one who is having an emergency or not?

Sometimes your party needs to take a break, eat some food and discuss the strategy for the next part of the dungeon.

If my eyes could roll any harder I’d be having a medical emergency

ok so you admit that someone telling you to go faster than you are comfortable with would be unwanted negativity and you would have to “deal with it”…

you just explained why your request in this forum thread is not valid, thanks…

There’s nothing negative about it.

That’s not a negative statement or request.

then why did you say that you would “deal with the negativity” if someone tells you to go faster?

you literally just said that a person that requests you go faster would be negativity.

so…its negative if someone tells you to go faster but your request to make someone else go faster isn’t negative?

you’re right, your hypocrisy will never end

See you’re not understanding the context of this post. The OP is, in a very toxic manner, requesting that every tank goes Lightning fast at all times, without exception.

So OP has stated that they have never done a key above a +5. So I asked OP how they would feel if they jumped into a +10 and someone was berating OP for tanking slowly.

The increase between a five and a ten key is probably the amount of difficulty increase from tanking mobs while questing and tanking mobs/bosses in a normal dungeon.

That’s how new players start the game. They first level as a tank spec and then jump into normals. It’s understandable if they want to go slower while learning

People like OP are just toxic and are the reason why new players don’t usually continue tanking after their first dungeon.

Brewmaster also benefits from this, just about 3 seconds, let stagger fall off.
