Unless you have data to prove that, it’s speculation on your part.
Not saying you’re incorrect in that assessment, but you cannot prove it.
I only do it once to get the item in the box. After that, nope! If gear was not attached, I wouldn’t do it.
Apparently u never done them cause that would be the only proof I need, I can do this all day bro
Take away the rewards and see how many people do them.
Can’t say the same thing about raiding – there are people who will still do it. I mean look at Mythic Raiders – they still do Mythic even though Heroic Raiders/M+ Players can still get the same gear as them.
I did warfront once or twice and got bored. It’s seriously something I could fall asleep while playing. Throw a heal or two, go fold some clothes for a few, oh people are low on HP, throw a few more heals, la de da epic snoozefest.
They’re so boring I don’t even do them for the free gear, and that’s saying something.
Warfronts and Island Expeditions are the most boring, bland content I’ve ever done in WOW. I don’t even do Island Expeditions anymore.
But Warfronts are the best, least aggravating way of getting past the 340 hump, which is where emissary rewards start giving you 355+ gear.
And when I say “best” I don’t mean “most fun”. They’re less frustrating than LFG trashwalls and wipes and guarantee you a piece of loot.
Warfronts are fun. They are just too fast/easy and there isn’t much incentive to spam them after the first run.
Island Expeditions were vastly improved. The only thing I don’t like about the changes is that there is too much emphasis on the azerite extractor now.
I have probably done more than you, again, speculation.
But what everyone enjoys doing isn’t always going to be the same thing.
As I said. I respect your right to voice your opinion. Doesn’t mean I agree with it, and it doesn’t even mean that I like warfronts any more or less than you.
I ran them to get the gear sets and once done, I’m continuing to do the quests whenever they cycle up.
it’s the only reason I log in right now is to do warfronts and Island Expeditions. cant wait for the next allied races. I feel it’s better than the older expansion when new content was just a raid.
Probably being flat boring has a lot to do with it.
I have no idea how you managed to do it 18 times in one phase without starting to chew off your limbs. For me at least, a game has to be entertaining. I don’t find them entertaining on any level. If I do them, I do them for one thing - to get a new 120 a couple of bits of gear.
Ask yourself this question - if they didn’t give that high level gear, would you still do them? Would you find them fun?
A game should be fun. I mean, that’s the whole basic purpose of playing something, to have fun. I find almost 0 fun in Warfronts.
High level gear? Level is relevant. I have no desire to Mythic, raid (even LFR) or even hreoic dungeons.
I want the transmogs. I am fine with running them for the transmogs. They are much more fun to me than something like LFR or BGs. Much less drama too.
I think the raider/mythics runners are overly concerned at the ilevel and that discolors everything they see about it.
When I see people screaming at each other in /i for warfronts, Ill leave these too. I see them a a FUN way to improve my character without having to deal with the drama types in Raids/Mythics/Heroics/BGS.
War fronts are okay for alts. The cycle quest is pretty darn rewarding for only needing to do 1. Not sure about island expeditions because I don’t do them.
I don’t like either of them so I do absolute bare minimum. I have a lot of alts that I haven’t even pulled through war fronts because they’re so boring to do.
Well, that just proves that everyone’s idea of fun is different. For me, they aren’t. If mogs are what the game is for you, tha’s fine. You asked for input, and my input is - people run them for gear, obviously, as you are doing. Whether its for mogging or for other forms of play, the sole purpose is for gear. I find them boring and feel they could have been much better designed.
For one thing, give us a pvp version, since it is supposed to be a "war"front. It would have been a bit like AV but on a much shorter timing. Don’t let groups join up to avoid premade groups overwhelming individual players. Give rewards of some sort (tokens perhaps) for contributing resources. Give honor pts for participating in taking strategic locations. If they had done that, it would have been a lot more interesting an idea. And if you don’t like pvp, you could still do the pve version.
Seems like most people don’t like them / care for them at all, but there are a few people who really like them.
I guess for beginners they might seem kind of fun? It’s fairly casual content and is somewhat story driven.
Not sure how many casuals/beginners are playing the game right now, but I feel like most WoW veterans regard them as being: too easy/not fun.
Does WoW still have a large influx of new players? I feel like it’s mostly established players (veterans) playing at this point. Not sure why they’d put in so much bland boring casual content.
Yeah I do Warfronts every week, but that’s because unlike PVP battles where there’s pressure to do good dps etc, in warfronts you can just do your own thing.
Pvp warfronts would have saved this expansion but blizzard are pve nerds so rip, they totally aboanded any type of good pvp content that it’s a stupid brawl prob made to save money
Well, besides M+, there really isn’t ANYTHING to do beyond Islands and WFs. I mean, it’s the content we are given. I do them for the added chance to further progress my characters. You know, the heart and soul of an MMORPG? These are just what we are given to do that.
Just because players are doing them, doesn’t mean they really enjoy the content.
That would be called a random battleground, and don’t think they haven’t or aren’t considering it. They would be great, IMO.
Just slapping a PvP flag onto the current warfronts wouldn’t work.
I’m doing the bare minimum of both. One is particularly more rewarding for that bare minimum.
I’d imagine the bulk of people running warfronts more than once per cycle are going to be fresh characters looking to get some purples to get their world quest rewards up asap.
My only gripe with warfronts is that it is not engaging or fun for me. You are basically running around in an interactive cinematic. There is no threat of losing and no benefit for putting more work into things. You always end up waiting for the buildings to finish, the siege engines to tick down the defenses, and a zerg on the final boss. That said, the reward (a 385) for 20-30 minutes of brain space every couple of weeks is pretty good for the amount of time spent on it, but again that’s not particularly enjoyable, its just another box to check off.
Similarly, I’d think most people doing islands are doing it for the weekly turn in. It is mainly for AP, which feels particularly unrewarding overall, but even more so now that the weekly reduction has turned off. There is not player power to be had here really, and outside of the weekly reward, there is not much to come back here for.
The problem with both systems is that they shore up this bare minimum game that BFA has become where you tick off your daily/weekly minimums and then log off, likely to play another game. This is the first expansion I’ve had zero interest in leveling an alt for and for me its these end game check lists that don’t feel particularly rewarding and aren’t particularly enjoyable. Legion at least had the random legendary to keep you going, but BFA doesn’t have anything similar.
I would say the same thing about raids though.
I wonder what % of players raid vs the % of players that run warfronts? I bet a much larger % run warfronts…
I agree, they would have needed to be structured differently, whether by having two end bosses to attack for by setting it up so the one had to be defended, with the theme rotating from phase to phase (which would have been more fun imo especially with things like offensive machinery you could create and use against walls etc). The possibilities are nearly endless, depending on their imagination and adaptability. There really is no reason why the WFs couldnt have been made in a pvp version - they obviously just decided not to.
I didn’t play the old Warcraft shoot games but I’m sure I read the warfronts were based on part of that game? Would those early iterations have been pvp?
