Where are the MOP servers? where are the Shadowlands servers? You don’t always get what you want with a live service game.
As long as there is a demographical demand for any of those you listed, there’s no reason why those kinds of servers can’t exist.
So the tl;dr seems to be that OP regrets their choice but doesn’t want to take responsibility for it
For it to be a choice, the cloning process would still have to exist.
It’s not much of a choice, if I had no choice but to activate the clone then.
If my favorite breakfast shop decided to stop serving donuts, that doesn’t mean my decision to have bacon and eggs the previous morning wasn’t a choice. Especially not when the shop had put up notices months in advance that they would by discontinuing their donut lineup
I can’t wrap my head around what you’re trying to say as they are not the same thing.
Donuts and bacon and eggs are something you consume.
My characters are something I built and had to pay for in order to build.
Of course they aren’t the same thing, that’s what a metaphor is. It’s a comparison to another thing in order to paint a clearer picture. The point isn’t made clear if they were literally the same thing
You seem overly attached to your character itself. What are you gonna do if Blizzard decided to shut the whole game down next week? Try and sue them for taking your character from you? Because that sure sounds like the logical conclusion of your attitude
Blizzard was very clear from the beginning that the cloning service was a temporary one. You had the option, entirely for free, to keep your character on Vanilla or move them forward to TBC, or pay $15 to have 2 copies on both. You don’t have to like it, that’s a perfectly valid opinion, but it’s no one’s fault but your own for not taking the option you wanted while you could
That’s why I made this topic. In hopes that they do it in the way I suggested.
The cloning was just mentioned in this topic for purposes of precedence and discussion. Only you derailed the thread to make it sound like I want my lvl 60 back; which I do, but I do realistically expect never to see it again.
What I want is for them to not repeat this process anymore, moving on to Cata.
Since this thread has a lot of semantics arguments, I just wanted to point out that technically speaking, these aren’t your characters. Blizzard owns them and can discontinue your access to their services at any time, for any reason. You paid for access to their services, but you have no ownership of Wafectus and other characters available to you on the character selection screen.
And that is why I accused you of gaslighting from the very beginning.
You’re explaining things to me I already clearly knew, and I know that you know that I knew these things.
And as I’m well aware of that, I’ll simply discontinue my financial investments in the company If I’m not provided with a quality product I’d expect.
You can continue footing the bill for this company if you want.
I’m quite happy with my experience with WoW Classic over these last few years. That’s why I continue my subscription
And maybe you are enough of a demographical force that the company can carry on without me, and my demographic.
Come the end of Lich King, that’s all about to be laid bare in the open, depending on how they plan to move forward after Wrath.
And one day Blizzard will shut down the servers for good and I’ll find something new.
If blizzard turns classic into something I don’t like, then I will leave.
why would they release Dragon Soul at launch?
All I did was correct misinformation that made the service look like something it wasn’t. You’re the one that turned it into a multi-post argument
And before you say “no you didn’t I already knew that” again, these were your exact words:
If you didn’t take advantage of the cloning process, you still had the completely free choice to either move to TBC, or stay in Vanilla. No characters were “forcefully” moved anywhere
Cata could do a lot in the form of class identity by just not locking people to certain specs until you reach the end talent.
Not sure if Blizzard would do that though since in Cata alot is tied to that first spec choice.
Leave WOTLK alone…I love riding my mounts in Thousand Needles again
burn this world in fire
make hunters great again
Bingo. Cata will never be Classic. It’s the start of Retail.
everything was the start of retail…
