not even sargeras could change the laws of physics which is why despite his best of intentions was he unable to destroy the legion because he kept trying to kill them in our reality and not theirs
he thought locking them away in the twisting nether would be enough to keep them contained an he was wrong if he had simply went genocidal on them once locked away they would’ve been permanently dead its the same reason we failed to destroy Ragnaros in MC he could only be killed in the firelands where the fabric of reality has different rules than ours
Arthas was not as powerful as Kil’jaeden. Not even close. Maybe absorbing more souls, but he was just a pawn of Kil’jaeden.
Powerwise, I guess even Deathwing was more powerful than the Lich King (as well as Lei Chen). What’d make him that deadly was the army, too.
But for the sake of the thread, let’s assume all the scenarios happens.
Keep in mind, if Arthas wins, he gets all the spoils of Azeroth, from the power and prowess of its living inhabitants to all the mystical magical mojo left behind by the Titans and friends.
Remember, Archimonde was operating under the assumption that if he could claim said Titanic power, he could unseat Sargeras himself. True or not, if Arthas gained that kind of power, then there’s nothing short of Sargeras who could defeat him.
Furthermore, if
– happens, that’s… basically it for the whole universe if not all existence.
If Arthas won, that would be it. None of the threats we’ve faced since the Lich King can compete with “this is the ultimate weapon of the immortal doomsday army that eats planets, one so powerful even they failed to keep it under control.” Not the Old Gods. Not Deathwing. Nothing.
If Arthas wins, everything beneath him loses.

why do you think the legion does not fear death? after all they can simply return constantly despite how many of them we kill they will continue to come back until we face them on their home turf the twisted nether but it would be such a costly battle since the legion is got no telling how many millions of demons at their disposal not to mention we don’t have a clue what else they might possess in their home dimension
for all we know theres technology and creatures native to that reality weve NEVER seen since not of them were able to be summoned and aren’t part of the legion but are merely the natural inhabitants of that dimension which doesn’t make them any less dangerous to our forces
