If the economy is so broken..... why wait til TBC to fix it?

The opportunity to delete anything that happened from exploits has passed. Preventing people from moving up with their characters/items/etc would be a slap in the face to customers that supported this project. We supported this so crusade would get made in the first place. Carrying things over is our reward. If someone else doesn’t start until crusade, they can’t complain that they don’t already have 60s with epic mounts and farmed materials. It was their choice not to play here first.

That’s pretty much what i’m saying. He’s bragging about his accomplishments and using it as a reason as to why he wants to bring his character over to TBC, while also saying I haven’t accomplished anything.

Don’t bother pulling anything out, your blue parses can’t even compare to my alt lol.

BEST AVG 73 lol. No wonder you want fresh.

Not true, I’m three items from bwl from completely full Bis on my bear tank. I want a fresh start on TBC since I consider it alot different from classic and it would nice to level up with everyone again. I would love to have motivation to level a new class or even swap factions.

Our offtank has a 98.2 best avg. Check out karlitoz on kirtonos.

Off tanks are limited by the threat that the MT can generate, which means i’m handicapped and end up auto attacking most of a fight to not pull threat when it’s not needed. Come on man, act like you know what you’re talking about.

Yea man, of course, because starting fresh will make us all better players. That’s totally the reason why I think we should start over.

because that’s how it worked in the original transition…people who played vanilla took their gold and items into tbc. If you stockpiled, that’s good for you. If you didn’t, well you started from scratch.

wouldn’t that be balanced by the fact that many items are obsolete within the first couple of levels of the expansion

But classic isn’t transitioning into TBC. Classic TBC will be brand new servers, it’s the players that are rallying to make it into a transition.

We don’t know that though. The survey presented an option that upgraded all servers into tbc with the option to transfer into classic. Even if they do it the other way around you’ll be hard pressed to force people to not take their stuff with them.

Then the best option would be to have some servers that allow the copy of classic characters over and some that do not, that way everyone will be happy.

All we can do is voice our concerns so blizz can deal with them. regardless of the grief we give the classic team, they’re pretty receptive to player complaints within reason

then delete your druid when TBC launches and make a new one

i would absolutely quit classic vanilla right now if i find out i cant bring anything ive worked so hard on over to TBC

Lol Blizz doesn’t care whether there are issues now or in the future. If they make a decision that benefits everyone it will have been by accident, not intentionally.

Have two separate server sets; one with, and one without classic toons. Easy enough solution that will quickly reveal what people actually want, since odds are one group of servers will collapse rather quickly.

They will probably take the parent classic realm, clone the player DB
and import it into the TBC realm, with the normal post upgrade patch wipe of talents etc.

It kind of makes the most sense?
It eliminated to cons of an ondemand character copy, which as noted above, i could quickly arrange to hit gold cap, ask for my copy, then back in classic shuffle the gold to my next guildie/friend/what ever, rinse and repeat, and create an army of gold capped toons.

cloning just takes what is in place.
The AH is of little concern really because look at it.
Now look around a bit on what was selling during TBC.
All that existing AH content will hit the bargain basement, which could maybe actually be a good thing for those choosing to make a fresh toon and level their way to the dark portal.

All those prized goodies in the AH now though mostly get superceded in BC, i dont remember much of it retaining relevance beyond a few weeks or so?

Myself i think it would be fun economywise to get to rebuild it from scratch (Economy, not your hard earned naxx gear etc) but i kind of fear that will cause more fighting and complaints than it was worth.

edit f’n auto spell

Im not sure that the economy is broken.
The problem is that so many people are hoarding.
I have around 7000g and another 8000g in materials im just keeping for P5/P6.

Even as one of these rich players, i do believe that there should be a gold cap for transfers to new TBC servers.

I think that cap should be quite low, say 200g per character or 2000g in total, not sure how blizzard could go about this, but w/e.

Anyway, as for the current economy being broken, the only expensive trade good that you cant realiably farm is Black Lotus, which sucks the most for Tanks and Casters, i think if black lotus had a 1% chance to come from Icecap, Mountain Silversage, Plaguebloom, Dreamfoil nodes, we would all be a lot happier (except black lotus hoarders)

Because they didn’t delete our characters, gear and gold when Vanilla became TBC?

I’m not sure if all these people that think TBC needs to be fresh are trolling or not, cuz the logic you’re using sure seems that way.

Because Blizz doesn’t get involved in the economy of servers like that. They aren’t just going to take gold away from people.
