Long ago the majestic high elves created the splendid golden city of Quel’Thalas built around a magical fount of energy known as the Sunwell. When the Lich King destroyed their capital in the Third War, the survivors turned to the Horde for help. Now known as the blood elves , these refugees are all that remains of their glorious civilization.

but the horde already have high elves, you mean blue eye shenanigans, they should have done by now yes.

something that used to be before

something that exists now.

if you read a textbook that said that chickens used to be the tyrannosaurus rex, would you say that a modern chicken is a t-rex?

Wrong analogy. More so do you still call russians sovets?

well no.

russians and soviets would still be humans.

the only thing that separates them is that the USSR collapsed and is now Russia.

And blood elves are just renamed high elves.

quel’dorei don’t call themselves sin’dorei tho.

but humans from other nations call each other humans

if Blood elves and High elves were separated by 65 million years sure.

Blood Elves and High Elves are more like a dog breed. We already have pugs and you want a new fancy designer breed of pug, separated by a few years.

Or you want to go back to Ye Olde Pug, who knows at this point.

all elves are kinda just trolls then tbh

just some like magic stuff happened

Am I a troll or was I made of metal/stone? I don’t know my own ancient history D:

Well how about the concept of set theory.

Not all High Elves are Blood Elves. All Blood Elves are High Elves.

The High Elves that are not Blood Elves are also called High Elves.

People want the latter.

Is that more clear?

This post has a wonderful Venn diagram.

that’s the humans when they first got taught how to use magic to fight trolls in arathor from the quel’dorei

No but if it says the T Rex had blue eyes then went through a national tragedy, survivors renamed themselves chickens and had green eyes because of the radiation but still looked just like the T Rex except eye color and were still biologically T Rex other than a name…yes the chicken is a T Rex.

uh

i uh

i don’t know about that one chief.

a chicken definitely looks much different than a t rex

They are. LOL. They are literally fat humans. I want blizzard to actually try and give us something new instead of passing off character customization that everyone has been asking for as new “races” that are locked behind a paywall and rep grind.

But that’s what I mean.

You are expecting something that has yet to be provided except with Vulpera right now. Nightborne are another exception with just how much went into their worldbuilding but even they ended up getting Night Elficized.

ARs are just low effort hype machines.

Giving alliance high elves hurts literally no one. Horde fanboys irritated at the thought of not being special snowflakes or potentially having a reason to roll Alliance? The horror

If “High Elves” were even to be a thing, it wouldn’t make sense for them to be horde…The “High Elves” that joined the horde became Blood Elves…

So I’d imagine that people that want “High Elves” are wanting the remaining elves (which wouldn’t be many of them considering why blood elves were created in the first place) that were loyal to the Lordaeron Humans?

I personally thought they all died and that’s why the blood elves created their new race title…that’s what they said in warcraft 3 campaign at least

The equivalent for “human” in this case would be “Thalassian” not Sin’dorei and Quel’dorei, those are titles.
