Say what you want but I see this as a in game problem and not the player. I blame the game developers for allowing these major changes to be put into the game.
I never had to use a dps rotation add-on until these changes were made to the class in Dragonflight. It never has been an issue before until now so that’s why I’m calling Blizzard out on this. If players are getting harassed over dps when trying to enjoy a raid and have fun, then it’s not a game anymore only drama and side picking.
So blizzard you have two options.
- Either change the shadow priest spec class when it was better
- Get rid of any add-on’s that allows spying on other players performance in game.
I Call it an act of invasion privacy.

Put much time into shadow priest and it would be too much of a hassle at this point to swap. This is a in game issue now so Blizzard will have to change it up. It’s gone on long enough without someone speaking up about it.
They will not change it, at least not for several years, the time for Holy is upon you!
What precise point in time does everyone agree to put it back to?
Nah. If someone is sitting there auto-attacking i wanna know.
edit: or if they’re just spamming a single spell, for the caster dps.
It isn’t a problem, though. There’s other specs out there if one doesn’t enjoy Shadow.
I’ll most likely just stop playing. I’m not paying Blizzard just to be harassed from all sides trying to work with a broken system that’s so bad you need an add-on just to try and help to do more dps. It’s not worth it.

Honestly the biggest issue for your character playing at your level (Pugging, no expectation of tier set etc) is your secondary balance caused mostly by rings and neck.
Some might call it hyperbole but shadow is, with 13% haste, unplayable. I’d be looking for sources of haste and mastery as a highest priority, or at least haste, even for a 10-15 drop in item level.
Shadows rotation at this point is, besides mind spike replacing flay and the addition of mind spike insanity (Hint: this isn’t actually important, it’s still just treated like mind spike) pretty similar to Shadowlands. It’s even a bit less frenetic because of the increase on the cooldown of void bolt.
What specific areas are confusing you? Is it when you first enter voidform or something else? Let’s get to the bottom of it and simplify things in a way that will still get you results.
I think some things could be better but overall I like the Spriest play style right now.
Shadow Crash/Spread Vamp ----> Do the same rotation.
What do you specifically dislike about it? It is overall simple in that you keep DoTs up and hit your buttons to keep them on CD, but still rewards pressing your buttons in a set order.
is it that problematic? I haven’t played SP alt that much, but it seems like the only issue is that proc after plague should be instant cast.
I appreciate you’re trying to help them but something tells me they are not interested in learning the new changes or receiving actual help. They want Blizzard to revert the changes so they don’t have to relearn anything. It’s the same ol’ entitled self-important “Blizz should listen to me” post you see all over the forums. People just want to complain about what the game is or isn’t. They can’t just enjoy it for what it is. It’s sad to be honest.
What I don’t understand is how this wasn’t a problem for him prior to 10.1. There was a decent amount more going on.
Going back to BC Spriest? I’m ready. Vampiric Embrace should be a long duration buff, not a cooldown.
