Funny how that was the galactic republic jedi. In old legends lore, not the disney canon, the old republic jedi usually trained their padawans later in life and not take them as babies. Still trained as children but they were more trained to control their powers, become scientists and peace keepers.
The thing with legends canon is that Lucas never cared about the EU. The Republic Jedi are 100% unfiltered Lucas nonsense.

I mean, that is a good thing. And honestly, Lucas took a lot of the old legends stuff and added it into his clone wars cartoon series. Especially Bane and the Rule of two. Full on old legends stuff that Lucas made canon.

Funny enough, the crystal bleeding aspects was a thing in the old legends lore but not the same way.
Disney just made it so the Kybar crystals bled. The difference is the sith made synesthetic crystals and use old sith alchemy to infuse it with the dark side to made it strong in the dark side.
All in all, Disney took one aspect of the old lore and just streamlined it completely so they didnât need to explain sith alchemy.

FWIW bleeding crystals as a concept predates Disney (it was almost made a thing in Clone Wars)

Lucas had exactly two goals in life: make movies and become wealthy enough to never have to deal with Star Wars fan ever again. I donât think he cares.
oh yeah, but that is basically Lucas showing the downfall of the jedi slowly, which I thought was great.
It wasnât just one thing that led to the downfall of the jedi but many steps that took them down it. He even stated that Qui-gon Jinn living would have turned Anakin into a force for good, especially more if they left the jedi order.
It is the thought when an order forgets their core principle and became tools for their government and how that happens. We see it again with the Ahsoka Tano arc of her living the jedi order.

All good has the potential to do bad, and all bad has the potential to do good. Sometimes when people think they are doing goodâŚthey believe so much in there beliefs and what they think is good, they donât see what impact it may really have on some people.
If you havenât, you should watch the series on Disney+ called Star Wars: the Acolyte.
It really gives a different look at your so called Jedis and there âgoodââŚand Republic being the right side. Wonât say that the Dark side is right, but gives understanding to why they follow that pathâŚthough, not necessarily the right one.

But Iâve delved deeper into the morality of the dark and light side that Acolyte wished it could have touched on. It is called the Kotor 1, 2, Swtor and The clone wars. Especially kotor 2 and the last 2 seasons of the clone wars. Acolyte was written by people that heard about kotor 2 and some of the themes in the clone wars but never actually watched or played the content to understand, so it was just so surface level.
Paladins all wish they could be illidan, the lights golden boy. Instead they have to settle for worshipping a floating dinner plate.
Light/void shift of a naaru is more comparative to the force than anything involving death magic. Comparatively death knights are more of an inverse of shamanism than paladin/priests with the light. It would be like saying fel is an inverse of nature, yeah it destroys it, but its the inverse of order.
