If I want to be a Moonkin will I have hard time getting groups?

except a mage will still parse as dps and a moonkin will parse as a healer taking that parse out of their average.

But Viscidus parse isn’t included in boss parses so wouldn’t that still be considered “complete raid”? It’s the damage done by both for the complete raid, no? Like if a Boomkin heals for half the raid, it doesn’t just stop counting that, it just drops down their complete raid DPS?

Visc is just hidden, he is still required for a complete raid parse

Right, but whether you heal or dps shouldn’t affect your complete raid parse. Healing just means you do less complete raid DPS

thats what we are looking at
who cares how a moonkin compares to other moonkin, we are comparing them to other casters

I never said anything about how they compare to other Boomkin? I said that healing doesn’t drop fights from your complete raid DPS. WLC doesn’t say “oh you healed in that trash pull, we won’t count that one”. It’s a summary of your complete raid DPS, including Visc (and all other fights) where you heal and do no DPS.

dude
it helps the moonkin compared to the mage
The mage has that lower dps averaged in where a moonkin does not since they are parsed as a healer for that fight. A mage will have 9 bosses averaged in and one VERY low where a moonkin will have 8.

Dude
we’re talking complete raid DPS. COMPLETE
RAID
DPS

As in, the dps done for the COMPLETE RAID. If neither class does damage on a fight, it lowers both of their COMPLETE RAID DPS. Healing doesn’t remove a fight from your complete raid DPS.

that isn’t how it works, complete raid dps parses look at just boss kills. The mages average the 9 and the moonkin averages 8. That’s just how it works.

Yes but he’s not parsing healer or damage for a complete raid DPS. Just like you can see both healing and damage for bosses, it’s including their complete DPS for all fights. Either way, it looks like the top moonkin are parsing as DPS on viscidus. I’m assuming hurricane on adds or something. Either way, their damage is getting counted.

3% crit is ~3-4% more DPS (slightly more than 3% because Fire benefits from rolling Ignite), so it depends on the DPS you’re doing in the first place.

Those numbers only get worse for Balance Druid at higher percentiles, so I was generous in using all percentiles. The DPS the Mages gain goes up, but that also means the difference between the Druid and the Mages goes up, and that difference is insurmountable at all gear levels and performance levels.

It is never worth it – DPS wise – to bring a Balance Druid over another Mage, outside of some huge gear differences like Naxx boomkin vs pre-raid Mage, and even then, it’s probably better to bring the Mage.

“No, that is not correct. You will NOT be taken to raids with super try hard sweaty epeen parsing guilds” fixed it for you

Plenty of guilds will take a Boomkin, you just wont find a slot in hard core guilds. You just have to be on top of gear farming, enchants, and make sure to show with consums to help compensate for the poor dmg out put

This. We run like 2 restos, 2 feral tanks, 2 feral dps, a boomkin, Ele Shaman, enhanc shaman, and Spriest. All of which are “memes” in raiding and we have had AQ on farm for months. Classic is brain dead easy. Anyone saying any of those classes will prevent raid progression has zero clue what they are talking about.

OMG
some of you whining about parses because 1 person out of 40 is not optimal.

I don’t think you guys get Classic at all. Shouldn’t you be parsing on SL content?

Wrong

1: could be an alt
2: Could be a horde main which is where they raid, not their alliance druid
3: not being max lvl does not mean their opinions dont matter.

Remove your head from your backside and stop being a tool

This, it is pathetic. Ppl trying to stroke their Epeens for clearing 15 year old content is quite comical. You can literally clear every raid out with meme specs, zero WBs, and minimal consums. Will it be a speed run? Nope, will you clear it all? yup. Will you have more fun dong it because you did it playing the class and spec you enjoy? Yup 100% 10/10

Both valid possibilities
but there’s no evidence to suggest that is the case.

When it comes to raiding, it absolutely does. No one cares what a level 58 thinks about a Balance Druid raiding, because a level 58 is not raiding.

Get some real arguments instead of having to rely on weak insults.

The only “real” argument anyone needs is Balance Druids are VIABLE, they are not OPTIMAL. Majority of the player base doesnt care about optimal as they are playing to have FUN. You do remember what fun is right?

@OP

Probably. Even most casual raid groups don’t usually want to take more than one. However if you know your class well, know when to put on a healing set and brez, I’m sure you can find a group that would let you play balance.
