Oh I agree, but if you look at most of the people who seem against it or for it, most seem to only want to run pugs or they are alts so joining a second raiding guild for many is unlikely. I am doubtful it will change much in guild membership, we will see though. For alts its obviously a trickier situation, though I feel most of the non alts would probably be happier if they found a guild that suited their playing style.
Also while posed the question about removing the ban, I don’t think its actually possible to eliminate the bots, certainly they could make a dent, but even if they could eliminate the bots, eliminating the gold famers, which have active players behind them would be much more challenging.
When I raid I almost always do it in progression, it’s by far the best way to raid and get gear, usually end up with LC which honestly has its own challenges, but overall for progression is far better then SR, assuming you have a good council. Pugging simply isn’t worth the hassle, even GDKPs for the most part. As a side note, I also usually only gear my main so that also eliminates pretty much any reason to run pug raids.
then what exactly is your problem with the ban? You don’t seem to have any stake in it.

Dont ban boosts implement the tbc changes to stun no dr and increased move speed but no further xp loss
The problem is its the attitude and idea of “I don’t like this because its not the way I like to play” so it should be banned, is a bad path and one that should go away, and that that action is more harmful then the action it prevents often times it also seems to be more and more the answer everyone has for everything they feel should be different. The extremely toxic behavior of many of the anti-gdpers also doesn’t help the cause.
So yes, I think people need to speak out against all the ban everything wave that seems to be going around.

Sorry, you don’t like the answer, it is what it is though. You also seem to be able to communicate just fine, so I wouldn’t count you amongst the toxic crowd, that said, I still am not a fan of the idea that any play style they seem to object to they automatically start calling for bans.
It’s not just “any playstyle,” it’s monetizing grouping to the same degree as boosting, carries, etc.
I’d like to see all of those things banned, personally.

In the redo of this this wasn’t even RMT’d much. it was the 60’s making the gold to run their alts in boosts.
Same for TBCC. My then 70 made gold…slow night in lfg but boosts runs up.

I don’t think they will, they even implemented the “Services” channel for mage booster sell boosts and then collect huge amount of gold so they can sell off.

99% of gdkp players are alts.
They main raid in a guild.

Yep.
If the alt comes into the guild…they go to LC lists.
If the main is slot 7, 5 people came in after them…that alt is now 13 on the LC list.
or they pug it, maybe gdkp. And take their chances there.
Hell no…I HATE LEVEL BOOSTERS AND PORTAL/SUMMON SPAM…ban all these people!!! Most of them are bots spamming in chat anyway.
One underrated change is the Services channel, which people selling summons/portals/etc. will be forced to use.
It’s definitely helpful. Would have been better if these summon bots were all banned tho.
Besides this, it’s far time they add a global default chat channel so people can chat while playing instead of using LFG. Just turn it off if you don’t like the silliness that ensues. It’s part of the fun, and would increase the engagement of the game.

Ain’t nobody got time for that…let the bots spam each other in that channel far away from the general population.
So again you go on about monetization, but this entire thread is based on the idea that bots and RMT would be eliminated, if so then all the monetization has gone away. So then the ban becomes purely about play style, and you still feel it should be banned so its no longer a monetization issue.
I mean lets be real bots are not going away anytime soon, and even if we got rid of the bots, we would still have gold farmers, so this was purely a meaningless hypothetical question, and you did answer truthfully. While you might object to monetization in the game, ultimately you object to peoples choice of playstyle in this and other cases even if there when there is no monetization, and feel that based on your opinion these practices should be banned.
So personally I am not for bans in general, ok maybe I would advocate getting rid of the petri flask in HC, but we are all a bit hypocritical sometimes. Ultimately though I don’t care how you play the game, or anyone else for that matter and I find that typically the best way to go. If you find the boosting chat annoying, which I know I do, I simply filter the add-on badboy and its subaddon ccleaner, and it clears all the annoying chatter right up, well I usually find I have to shut down barrens chat, but I suspect a lot do, and I haven’t figured out a good filter for that one yet.

Being a consume abuser I rather enjoy abusing them, and the occasional GDKP buys me an absolute heap of consumes.
They’re also wildly effective if you’re speed clearing or parsing
