I’m going to be defeated. I spent every minute when I got home last night doing my cloak quest and got it to rank 4. Today I got it to rank 5 and did some WQs for the cache. I’ll have to do Hello Kitty Island Adventures as well this week along with a +15 mythic and cap this toon in PVP.
The abundance of systems Blizzard has now put into the game is disgusting and gives me no hope for Shadowlands and the Tower of the Grind. I’m praying next week we only need to do 1 Horrific Vision for the cap to hit cloak rank 7. I’ve been doing them as a one wing + Thrall so far and it just isn’t fun repeatable content.
On top of all of it, it is fairly confusing. I wouldn’t expect casual players to grasp this latest system fairly quickly. I will be able to complete five more daily lesser visions to get a total of 5,000 more coalescing for the week and I know on Friday the minor invasion should reset allowing another 5,500 which will get me my 6th rank on cloak. Seems a little absurd that there is this much work involved to stay ahead on the drop.
Lastly, with how god awful that cloak quest was I’ve pretty much solidified myself to only playing one toon this patch unless somewhere along the way the clownshoes decide to take off their red nose and hand zappers to make this game less of a chore.

all that would matter (if even) are essences and overall ilvl
i cant even q the game half the time because nobody i like playing with wants to be a slave to blizzard

Yeah, think this patch killed my desire to play alts. Really aggravated because I love playing alts and truly don’t have a actual true main.

I don’t mind the effort we put into getting a legendary cloak which can be upgradable. This is nothing compared to what we had to do back in MoP to get the legendary cloak as that was timegated back then also I think. The only issue for me is that its not as exciting to progress through the quest chain. More importantly, I would love to see an easy catchup system for alts. An alt friendly system imo is usually the most enjoyable for me when classes are not designed with depth.

Just another barrier before you can step into end game content. Imagine being a new player and getting 120 thinking you can do stuff now, only to realize you’re nowhere near getting into anything.

Doggo… I hate so much of what you say… But holy moly this post is so spot on.
It’s actually insane how many really super average side mini games they’ve introduced to try and make you feel busy. Islands/visions/warfronts… So many crappy systems that you have to do before getting to the actual good stuff.
Imagine logging on to PvP… And just straight up pvping. Oh the horror!!! 
Somehow I don’t think subs are any better now than they were for any previous expansion.

I just want to PvP to PvP. PvE should be a side activity.
If this is going to be the norm, I would also rather have Templates.
It’s completely clear at this point that Blizz is not capable of balancing both PvE and PvP numbers without certain restrictions like the templates.
Give us freaking vendors or go back to Templates. This game feels like a job just to have a competitive loadout inside arena. I’m tired of it. The kicker is, even after doing all these chores you’re met with a dampeny slow paced awful “organic” meta.

I don’t mind doing it once, then a small small grind every week wouldn’t bother me. But essences not being boa, cloak having to be grinded by every alt is just to much for me at this point. Just gets old.
I literally did the vulpera quest chain first because I’d rather mess with alts instead of heading into the grind with my atm main.
Sure I’ll knock it out but doubt I play my priest or pally like I’m wanting to.
The patch is super front loaded and honestly this stuff is easy. Already at a point where after getting my cloak to rank 5 it’ll just be… world quests?
