Its much more than that
It is what is healthy for a class vs all other variables including all other specs and classes.
Less ridiculous outliers and oh crap moments means
- reliable damage instead of many modifiers and temp buffs for “what if calculations”
- Raid designs and pvp and mythic plus isnt a sprint for a healer to catch up and less frustrating moments
- more decision making and reliable damage and healing for anyone involved regarding their classes
- more team compositions opening up in pvp and pve because things synergize as a result of healthy class and enemy design (pvp and pve)
- No more ridiculous nerfs or leaving X to rot.
The design intent per the devs notes regarding all classes (not just ours and our specs) and direction of the health across all modes of play is going to an actual stable state. (highly recommend reading all of them).
The devs are doing good stuff man. Midnight is a new era that combines parts of a kit over the years without devaluing anything and allows us to build what we most hold dear.
If you are constantly in a cooldown
- it isnt impactful + more external cds are needed
- wildly tuning one aspect of any kit creates unfavorable stats and outcomes and hurts the spec/ class.
Ex: Outlaw constantly chasing CDs and low reliability - SOLVED
Assassination being all dots and no pay off - SOLVED
Subtlety constantly chasing cds to deal anything meaningful while leaving base abilities like crap and existing in an 8s window that you STILL needed additional conditions + steroids like flagellation+ x - SOLVED
No more stun botting, no more cc tax, all abilities matter for all 3 rogue specs. Choices of the rogue and secondary stats still matter.
Skill expression and decision making is still very much a thing depending on how one applies
- their kit as it stands
- their chosen path of talents
- Their timing
- Additional interactions via hero talents amping cool and meaningful interactions without cluttering up your screen with goofy vfx.
All really dang good changes for the health of our class and for others. PVP and PVE will grow again because of healthy design.
