If blizzard removed flying permanently?

Imagine all zones in an xpac being like Nazjatar. Then imagine no flying during the entire xpac. It wouldn’t matter how much they increase the ground mount speed. The attrition rate would be huge.

I think people have forgotten when Warlords announced the complete removal of flight and a record number of players unsubscribed en masse to the point that Blizz had to backtrack and came up with Pathfinder as a ‘compromise’.

At best, I’d go for those mechagon jet packs, but not total removal of flight.

yeah, they shouldn’t advertise features that are in testing and may fail.

Wouldn’t really be too interested myself. Blizzard just needs to embrace flying, it opens up options for a wider design variation which being grounded hinders.

Things like Nagrand’s floating islands for example are just something that wouldn’t work in ground based game design, not to mention that the requirement of access to places curbs design and restricts creativity.

Just look at life, not everything follows a gradual hill with a path allowing access to the top yet this is something required to make a world that is grounded to function.

Not sure, i’d probably just quit again, i quit when they announced no flying ever again as we go forward in that weekend interview and only came back when they back-peddled and came up with a compromise. Sadly, many of my guildies never came back, WoD and the lead up to it was the death of the game for me.

I’m still here now and doing a little content with a small group of friends but it wouldn’t take much to make me walk away again, if my friends left i’d be gone, if Blizzard pulled some crap that really annoyed me i’d be gone too.

Wouldn’t care tbh.

if the game won’t start blasting running in the 90s as soon as i start running through the zones at 450% movement speed, then don’t even bother.

I would quit.

I enjoy flying. It has nothing to do with speed and everything to do with three dimensions.

Seems pointless to go that fast for the most part if I can’t fly over mountains and around stuff, mainly mobs, especially while farming stuff. That’s 95% of what I use flying for once I get it.

I’d rather see Blizz do what SWTOR does.

SWTOR gives you a clicky that lets you teleport to any taxi you have discovered once every 10 minutes.

For the wow equivalent, let us use our flight whistle once every 10 minutes and instead of going to the nearest flightmaster, let just choose any flight master to go to in the zone.

running at 450% ground speed through the forest would be interesting.

I’d do what I did with the no flight forever announcement in WoD. I unsubbed and didn’t return until just before Pathfinder came out so that I finished Pathfinder right when it was enabled.

Present and future xpacs - no fly, no buy. Legion I decided not to buy after finding out that Argus was going to be permanently flightless. I waited to buy BfA until it was on sale after pathfinder part 2 came out with patch 8.2.

If they’re already going to make us wait half the xpac to fly, then there should never be another flightless zone for the rest of the xpac.

from modding Wow private servers way back in the day you can’t set mount speed beyond blizzard server hard limits, the server can’t handle the prediction past hard limits set by the code, you get what appears to be teleport effect with higher speeds compared to the client.

No, no.

At best I will accept a cutback to 60% for flying.

With a free jetpack. Based off class flavor.

I’d make a self harm video and post it on youtube

I just had this image pop into my big cow head of a bunch of pandas doing that and bouncing around like superballs!
