If alliance players got a new race what would they want most?

I wanted to avoid the fight about 4-legs. I know some of them have 2, but this is GD

Flash cut to Wildhammer Dwarves being announced for the Horde, like Blood Elves.

“Hey Pandaren, I know these guys enslaved and massacred your race for hundreds of years in the past, but you can work it out with them now, right? C’mon, they just wanna join the Alliance!”

I can see that going over well.

Because it can’t be said enough: Naga.

Vrykul for sure.

I mean the Zandalari helped, and pandas don’t seem to mind teaming up with them.

do people seriously want murloc as a playable race? theyre not even smart enough to have pants and be pickpocketable. They’re basically water chimps in terms of intelligence. they can build shelters and use rudimentary nature magic and fashion crude weapons. thats it.

What do you think would be the most interesting race to add to the alliance?

vrykul or jinyu. but allied race as a concept is already pretty effed up. Mecha, LF drae, and DI dwarf should be customizations. KT can stay but the skinny model should be an option as well. OR high elf with a unique model that does NOT use the BE skelton. Then delete all night elf mages. Jinyu cooler than sethrak imho

I think a neat thing would be to give kultirans the thin body type option and forsaken the large option with some abomination features. A bit of a swaperoo.

disagree. that effort should go into ogres (delete vulpera) ((sorry))

Ogres would also be a good choice. Can’t say I support deleting my favorite race though, haha.

The perfect Alliance race needs to be something doable, established, and requested.

Doable as in technically doable. It can’t be too insanely huge, and it has to fit within the humanoid anatomy model for doodads, mounts, and all that other stuff. That means Naga are out, and so are Vyrkul.

Established as in… it needs to be a real race with real history and backstory and a pre-existing impact on the game/lore. No lazy, 8:00 pm Friday, doodled on a cocktail napkin races, ie, they can’t be anything like the Lightforged Draenei or Void Elves.

And requested as in… people have to want it, and not just some wacky fringe with niche tastes. Yes, there are actual, legitimate Tuskaar fans out there, but the Alliance needs something with mass appeal, especially after the absolute travesty that was their Allied Races.

my issue with vulpera is that they use the goblin skeleton. really peeves me. That and their only existence is to be furbait. they just come out of nowhere (dont fight it you know its true) I would be ok with them being neutral but blizz said they wont ever do a neutral race again bc they don’t know how to write them (also im not 100% anti furry bc i like pandas but they put work into fleshing them out as an actual race with a culture and history and mythos)

I really dont know, but alliance really needs a more ‘fantasy’ type of character, we have all humanoids that are not that different between.

My choices are:

  • Vrykul (I know it would be the same but imagine leveling a dual 2h fury warrior or DK)
  • Jinyu

I’m trying to wonder how they could do vrykul and still make them feel good. Because the appeal is the large size-- but some dungeons have low ceilings. Like Waycrest manor. So that presents some interesting challenges to overcome.

I just hate we didn’t get skinny Kul Tirans

Actual robots of some type. Mechagnomes were the biggest monkeys paw, I don’t know anyone who would have prefered the mad max cyborg gnomes which are basically normal gnomes that can’t wear pants vs glorious full metal robo gnomes. Imagine being jeeves and dropping jeeves. Imagine slapping the horde as blingtron the monk. It didn’t even have to be mechagnomes some humanoid actual robot race would have been so much cooler.
