Ideas to save housing

Hint: It would have been instanced in vanilla too.

Its a portal with your own personal button.

No easy way?
Press H. View house. Done.
Right click a portrait. View house. Done.
In the near future as per the look ahead to housing post:

A Look Ahead at Housing in Midnight — World of Warcraft — Blizzard News
I BEG. You people need to be more informed before yall just yap on posts like this day in and day out. It’s really getting annoying having to continually link a post from before the expansion was even out because yall seem to only be interested in complaining about the game and not actually playing it or being informed.

I’m beginning to lose hope in even trying to keep yall informed because it doesnt seem like nearly any of you want to do anything other than either claim blizzard isn’t saying or doing anything for you, or being a victim.

Why is it suddenly a problem to have a central portal room in the main two cities + whatever main hub for the expansion exists? It’s never been a problem but suddenly because yall cant just press H (or even the button on your action bar) its suddenly a game breaking big deal?

It really isn’t, from people who actually played during that time.

Considering that is the main reason people are even in cities, apart from hittable training dummies (both of which people want moved not just in the neighborhood but their personal house) yes, it pretty much would. Just like it did the first time. Especially now that we have an ah mount, a transmog mount (and people want both of these too), and plenty of bank toys (of which people ALSO want).

Like at that point where does it even end? Why have a game at all? Just play menu simulator outside your house.

That’s debatable.

…like what?

Prey is finite. There will come a time where you are completely done with it. Personally, right now, I’ve been done for weeks. There are two hard busts that I dont have yet because I was focusing on random nightmare hunts to get all of them done, but thats i, and this week everyone who has bothered is hitting level 10, which gives you a personalized hunt.
Meaning for the next 2 weeks I go to him one time, get the busts, and Im entirely done.
All pvp content is instanced.
All dungeons have a portal
You can get to all three raids in under 3 minutes (unless your pc is garbage with loading screens) although I doubt a lot of people advocating to have everything in their house would travel there, they’d likely just beg for a summon in raid chat, and thats if they even raid.
Dailies existed in WoD
Currencies existed in WoD
M+ didnt exist..but its predecessor Challenge Modes did
Sure Delves didn’t exist, but they didnt exist prior to TWW, and in TWW you could get a toy that just straight up took you to a delve along with K’aresh having portals straight to every delve so you didnt even need to go to dornogal in S3.
Crafting existed, and you did all of it in the garrison.
gathering existed, and you did all of it in the garrison.
Mission tables started here, and you did all gold farming from the mission table.
Auction house and the bank existed, and they were both in the garrion.
The Great Vault didn’t exist, so there was no reason to go to the city.
Weekly quests for currencies in the form they took in dragonflight didnt exist so there was no reason to the city.

Mythic zeros did not exist so once you got heroic gear from dungeons you just literally didnt even do them anymore leaving the only dungeon content completely queuable.

Work orders did exist in wod during the garrison and was why you didn’t even need a 2nd or third character, much less go out in the world, to do profession making. Use your profession building, and turn right around and sell it in the trading post or put it in your storehouse.

Like, this works against you more than for you here.

I havent found a single decor item that is costly to make.
If you’re complaining about the auction house prices? Tough.
Make them yourself or spend on the convenience of someone else doing the work for you.
It takes like an hour to get more than enough lumber btw.

Sure, for people who won’t bother playing the content it would be.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow: All the mats are normal farmed mats. You even had months in advance to buy every single mat you would need because we knew what they would cost ahead of time.

VERY few decor pieces use something thats expensive. Now, a cheaper alternative? Sure. But all of them? Give me a break.

It’s the first expansion that has had them and, again, its been out for 2 months. Patience.

Because thats how game development works. This has been fully out for 2 months. We have had hundreds of items added in 2 months. we already nearly doubled the total amount of items in game that existed pre midnight, and we arent even at the first patch yet. Give it time.

Agreed. We have ample evidence that they are too small as when blizzard implemented the visible borders, they arbitrarily decided to make the plot lines smaller and have yet to correct them. Even when we get more outdoor budget, I’m not moving the items that were at the old plot size nor am I moving any decor that was, intentional or not, changed to indoor only.

Any day now I’m expecting my exterior to lose pieces once they either remove items past the new plot lines, remove what was changed to indoor only, or both.

i guess them doing that will give me the drive to potentially change my house to a medium one since the main reason I didnt want to do that was because I knew it would mess up my yard.

Stability and performance. I’ll take the stability of my game over you being able to stuff your yard to make it pretty for likes and clicks. Also from that same article:

In the Midnight alpha, we had to disable exterior lighting due to performance concerns on the client. We’re currently working on a way to re-enable this in a way that remains performant. At the moment, this is taking the form of proximity restrictions so two light sources outside cannot be placed too close to one another (which is where the bulk of the performance impacts come from). This restriction will only exist outdoors and you’ll be free to place all the lights on top of each other indoors like you can today.

Once this is implemented, we’re going to run additional performance tests to see how exterior lights affect performance in a Neighborhood with a lot of players and every plot fully decorated. Assuming these numbers come back favorably, we’ll be increasing the exterior decor limits again as well.

Not 2 mini patches later:

I bet this still wont be good enough and yall will still complain, as the forums usually do.

Not at the expense of stability. Not budging on that.

It’s been 2 months. Most of the bugs have been active for a few weeks. Patience is a virtue almost none of you have.

How
It does literally nothing to remind you all every single day or week that “Yes this is still broken” like yall have the mental awareness of children, especially when most of you don’t even read it the first time.

If most of you cared about housing as much as you claim to do in long winded posts, I wouldnt be linking a February 24th post straight from them for probably the 13th time in a month.

Okay? What relevance does stating this even have?

Again, from the same post:

Currently, we’re planning for Layouts to work on a room by room, an exterior plot, and a “whole dang house” basis but we’re also exploring some other finer-grained options here too.

It’s important to note that the sharing of a Layout is an explicit choice and up to the sole discretion of the house owner. Unless you, as the owner, decide to export and share a Layout, players (even those who have permissions to your house) cannot access or import it.

Another important note is that when you import a Layout, you don’t need to own all the decor, but you will need to have any necessary rooms or houses unlocked. We’ll try our best to make the import work (leaving out objects you don’t own, not coloring objects you don’t have the dye for, etc), but some things would break the bounds of physics too much for a direct import!

There’s a whole lot of logistics for us to figure out still since we want these to be very flexible and usable by everyone, but we’re excited to talk more about Layouts in the future!

Like, it’s almost like your long winded post has largely already been answered, you, and a few others, just dont care enough to read it and stay informed in the near 3 months this post has been out, or the same amount of time for the housing video that holly and ion put out.

To have the exact same posts almost word for word keep appearing shows that yall don’t care near as much as you claim you do. Or alternatively, you ignore all the information known to yall so you can continue to complain on the forums.

I say yall because there are 7 likes and 1 reply to your post besides mine that are acting like none of this information exists or is readily available.

You dont have to.

Please, no.

They aren’t. This is overly dramatic for the sake of being dramatic. There are multiple avenues, ingame, out of game, and through addons, that give you all this information.

You are willfully choosing to ignore ALL of that to make up a situation that doesnt exist.
