In my opinion. I think Blizzard should make “hardcore” more like OSRS Ironman mode. Sure some people can do as OSRS has and be Hardcore Ironman. But also allow people who don’t want to delete their character be able to join the fun.
I would allow basically Ironman as OSRS does it. You can’t Trade or use the auction house.
I would add that if you are an Ironman character you have access to every profession. This would bring a lot more content into the Ironman challenge.
I would like it to be very similar to OSRS basically, but World of Warcraft’s take on Ironman. Let people start off as Hardcore Ironman, once they die they lose their Hardcore status but can still continue on as an Ironman. Maybe display the information of what level they were when they did die the first time.
I think this would be a good option for the game and bring more people like myself to hardcore. Because I personally will not play hardcore out of the fear of losing all my progression. But if I was allowed to keep on going as just an Ironman in my example of OSRS. Then it’s fine. I still keep my character and continue on the journey. The main thing would be disabling any way to trade with other players. Basically a single-player game but you’re able to do dungeons/raids with other people. You just can’t trade them under any circumstances. I think if Blizzard did this then all Ironman characters should rely on the Personal Loot system that was introduced in retail. You have the system to make this a very fun experience.
This just opens it up to more people in my experience and if this change happened, I would happily play the game mode.
