Shrug. Everyone wants something different. You could very well be right and that 99% of all the people that are anti-buff just want to flex. And you’re also right in that people could have said, “You missed your window, too bad”. But, instead this whole thing turned into this you’re a gatekeeper, flexing, inferior, superior, or whatever . Which I found really weird.
You didn’t miss your window.
You can just not use the buff.

Ulduar should NOT have been nerfed. It was bad enough that we got 252 ilv, but at least it was to future proof ToGC shenanigans. Thankfully it never was.
Also turning off the buff is not the answer when you are one person in a 25 man raid team. The fact anyone thinks that this is an answer is just trolling at this point.
I’m not sure if you’re just not getting it, but in this case, if I were still playing, the window would have been the time the raid dropped up until Blizzard said “Ok you need help”. Clearing it isn’t enough. Clearing it in time is.
So yes, if my raid didn’t clear it yet. We missed our window.
well considering you have made 900 posts about it and it is a heavily debated thing, clearly you and others care lol and I try to say it in the most delicate simple way possible and you’re still freaking out. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand if you’re an mmo player you know most players won’t gimp themselves for no reason no one would do Alg with below ilvl if not for the achievement especially when it’s not a solo game mode, and the game will be way less fun if Icc is a cakewalk I think even you wouldn’t deny that but perhaps it will still be adequately challenging.
It started out as, if you want your challenge, to finish your progress, to have your accomplishment then just turn the buff off. People wanted to act like their whole guild wants to do it without the buff… then do it without the buff if you dont make it in time.
But thats not what they actually want, a simple solution and they want to make excuses and so on. The situation just leads to this point where they bring up gear and so on. These people want to gatekeep, they dont want others getting what they got and so they are throwing a fit over it.
Who cares if jimmy gets a heroic DBW, you dont know Jimmy, people on Jimmys server doesnt even know Jimmy, so why care if he got it with or without the buff?

Then those around you dont care about the same things you do and you cant force them to. The buff is coming whether you like it or not. Find like minded people that want to do it without the buff. There are enough of you on these forums to make a raid 10m raid group, you cant find another 15? Or are you guys just alt hopping to make it sound like a larger issue when its not even an issue in the first place?
Its not. And unless I have made all the posts in each of these threads then you are grossly exaggerating post counts.

This isnt Algalon, and there would people to do Alg below ilvl even without the achievement. There as no achievement for the iron man challenge but people still did it. People went into ICC in blues “no one is going to do something blah blah blah” well they do. And its funny how these people found like minded people to do this.
Then shut off the buff or quit. Those are your choices here.
Its absolutely fun being able to go in and absolutely wreck the place.

If you stuck a title on doing heroic lk no buff then I’m not kidding the amount of people who would do that would increase 9 billion x. But most guilds wouldn’t purposefully make themselves do less dmg even if obviously the average gamer wants some challenge……
Well, i’m not going to speak for other guilds nor am I going to get further into the weeds. I’m just glad we could eventually have a conversation about this. Flex or no flex. Gatekeep or no gatekeep. The game was solved a long time ago. the people “solving” it today are riding the coat tails of those who did the actual work.

Well speaking from my own experiencemy guild is lamenting ICC possibly being a snorefest but they won’t turn off the buff without like more loot dropping or something, that’s just the human condition or something
No, whole groups. People would be like “uhnnnn Algalon is too hard” so a group of people would go in way below ilvl smash it out record it and show it to the complainers.

So what? This doesnt change the fact that YOU CAN TURN THE BUFF OFF! How many times does this have to be put out there? Most guilds really dont give a damn, but for those that do… shocker… you can turn the buff off.

Not going to happen. They can either turn the buff off or quit pouting about it. This also isnt the human condition, this is some spoiled human thing. Whatever happened to just doing something to do it? To have fun with friends? Guess your guild is just there using each other to get gear for no reason what so ever. Thats pretty sad if you ask me.
I play a sandbox game where to increase the difficulty I have to turn down how much loot I get, my XP gains, take negative perks, increase enemy count and turn on an event that happens only once during the vanilla game to come every week (or day if I want).
This gets me absolutely no reward except to say I did it. I only even do it in single player and never join multiplayer servers.
If you actually want. A challenge, you are going to seek it in any way you can.

You’re kind of just being narrow minded, I can understand the mentality people are too practical to grief a week’s worth of gear people ruin the game for themselves chasing gear I do agree a thing like mage’s tower would more or less be dead content on release if it didn’t have the rewards
Reminds me of when Warmode was added to Retail and people were crying about getting ganked on their alts. We would tell them to turn off Warmode, and their response was always “But then I won’t get the XP buff”.

Yeah that was me!!! it was more out of stubbornness, even while trying to do my dailies in nazjatar with 10 horde assassins on the map and the alliance base being farmed

abandoning the guild you might have been in for years at this point in the hope of finding a rare elitist guild that will turn off the buff, isn’t an answer though unfortunately. I don’t think it’s asking for much to just give non buffed more loot drops or whatever but maybe the raid will still be hard enough to be fun no one wants the final raid in classic to just be naxx tier hehe
