You must be trolling man. Somehow an automated update that you have to click a single button for is an overwhelming task for you. We can’t have something that impacts no one elses gamplay because you’re a troll. This is as strawman as it gets.
If there was an option to show the new models in every client, then YOU could choose not to see the new models. You could stick with the old models. Then if the OP wanted to see the new models instead, he could. That would change NOTHING in YOUR experience. Did I simplify that enough for you? Or are you just being deliberately obtuse?

New models completely break the spirit of the original races. So, no.

Love classic, and dont want a lot of changes to it either. However if it were a toggle that would only affect what the player sees (think thats what is being proposed) and not what everyone else is seeing, I dont see the harm. Its no different than someone using an addon to fix up their gui, or someone who isnt using an addon but moved the char and target windows to the middle of the screen. Its just a visual adjustment for that particular player. Now whether or not its technically possibke is a diff discusion (which I make 0 claim to know of either way).

Then you wouldn’t want to turn that option on. You could enjoy the original races in Vanilla style. What the OP talked about wouldn’t change a thing for you.

lol ok you got me the alcohol is kicking in and i’m having a bit of a gag here. truth be told i wouldn’t mind the new model option if people really insist on ruining their time with Classic like that. I bet these same fools are using the rendered water effects instead of the SOULFUL animated water effects. damned shame really, but if people wanna ruin a good thing then so be it.
I think a toggle that only changes how it looks for you is fine. Doesn’t hurt anyone
People wanted this back for what it was. Not for what it could be or should be. Be begged for years for this. It wasn’t hey, please make classic but use this from retail or that from retail. We got what we asked for and now that we got it we want more and more. Dont matter if it was a simple npc chain or something a big as a token. Classic is the closest mirror to vanilla that we could get. Yes if you want ever changing experience with the game retail is the game for you. People who wanted this back knew what they were getting into.
One good reason: Is because like i said those of us who begged for vanilla and crying, kicked moaned and groaned never said "please give us vanilla with updated models. That’s the reason those of us wanted it to be completely unchanged. So admit away now.
You think it would not be difficult to implement, only you would think that tho. That would cost them a lot of resources.

No, you can ask for things. I just feel that new character models are not appropriate for vanilla, as they completely change the, “spirit” of the races.
