I would have more incentive to level if

Agree! I was leveling my paladin and I had to wait until level 100 to transmog to something cool. I looked horrific while tanking dungeons :frowning:

Having a cooler looking set makes it fun for some of us. Maybe not you…

Then you are very, very, very, very, very odd because you’re doing the same thing.

Different people like different things. I’m not sure why that’s so difficult to understand.

I’m a roleplayer. I’m a writer. I enjoy transmog quite a bit and spend a lot of time on it with many of my characters. I also enjoy leveling in certain zones for their storylines and running them again on new characters to get ideas for background stories for said characters. And I like to do this with awesome outfits and lots of choices for said outfits.

If you don’t enjoy that, that’s perfectly fine and acceptable. But it doesn’t mean someone is weird because of it.

Snorted so loud. Hahaha. Comment wins the night for me.

Man, I agree with this sooooo much. Whats it even matter anyway, I earned the transmog to begin with so why not let me use it on my alt?

I have to wonder how much of that was out of generosity and how much of that was “Oh, our dungeon loot tables scale now” Don’t get me wrong, it was a vast improvement and I have not seen anyone upset over it. Its the fact that no one seemed upset and actually took it positively that I think should be observed by Blizzard.

Being able to use the transmog I have earned over the years on an alt, regardless of level, does not hurt the game for anyone in any way.

You are a madman Metro, but I respect your lust for challenge. Actually, I greatly enjoy the videos where people level only using grey items or naked. There are some good series out there that do that.

I feel like we have gone too far to turn back on that now though. There are a couple of ways I could see tackling that though. Make it a toggle in the Heirloom window that when on gives a small boost in stats for that item slot as well as the XP bonus. It would make getting gear while leveling more important for sure while still making heirlooms very valuable.

I think that the fact that they did what they did in 7.3.5 shows that they do care if they were willing to dedicate the time and resources to changing so much. I think the fact that they waited until 8.1 to undo the exp changes also shows it as they said they want to take the leveling experience seriously instead of just band aid fixing it. Look at the AH as an example and the band aid fix they applied without going into any details on plans to fix the AH in general.

I mean… There is nothing but current content in classic though, so of course it works. The problem begins when the content is no longer current and you want to make things rougher for players who have already gone through the old content. I’m not going to go any further on this one because it drifts more from leveling to traversal of the world for me personally.

The older leveling experiences could benefit from some of the modern advancements such as event locations, better rares, and such. They already snuck in Gear Upgrading in 8.1.5 which, to me, shows they do want to take the time to do leveling stuff. Its honestly probably just not super high priority and they can’t expend too many resources focusing on it.

I just wish at least the crap you’d get in zones MATCHED at low level. A good example I feel is levels 40-60 or even Outland. Your pants never match your chest, or your gloves, all different colors while out questing.

Heck, it would be nice if we could even have some kind of minimal transmog options while out questing, if even to only change the color of something we are wearing. Nothing worse than riding around on your monk, hunter, warrior etc with yellow gloves, red boots, green chest and purple pants, lol

My main problem with leveling is that every time I get an upgrade, it completely clashes with my tmogs, so I’m constantly forced to transmog the ugly away. I wish Blizzard would apply transmogs to the gear slots themselves instead of the actual pieces of gear. I can’t run around questing and dungeoning when I have an ugly untransmogged piece of gear exposed to the world for all to see. I have an image to maintain, and I can’t be seen wearing the outfit of a peasant or common mercenary.

I agree with this as well. Elder Scrolls Online does this and its a FANTASTIC system. I don’t have to hop on my transmog mount every time I replace a piece.

But if you want to support Jani you need to look like a trash can

Otherwise you might feel a painful bite on your butt :scream:

You can’t seem to wrap your head around the fact that what’s inconsequential to you is very important to some people.

Or maybe you do know and you only post stuff like this to make people mad?

I AGREE

though personally if they revamped the old world with new quests reflecting on current events similar to cata, then I would have more alts going through the same quests again and again gets tiresome after the first few alts.

It could be worse, we could still have the transmog restriction we had in place prior to 7.0!

Not only would you have to earn all transmog options on a per character basis, but you couldn’t use them til you had got to the lvl appropriate for the loot!

7.0 was great with the addition of the appearance tab so gear (you’ve obtained for your armor type for the character) was unlocked for everyone.

And I think it was 7.3.5 that lowered the lvl restrictions for specific pieces so that you don’t have to look like a mismatched murder hobo at lvl 1.

If the level of OP’s character is correct, she’ll just need to get one more level to gain access to legion transmog options. Personally, I like the fact that they still have level restrictions for certain pieces, gives me something to look forward to when leveling.

…they added more content to every zone. It don’t need to be a cata level overhaul, add some world quests, new rares, maybe some scenarios. Make low level dungeons scale with all dps or whatever combo is available in queue.

I would love to see the stat squish issue be reversed. From 20 to 110 there is little change in stats. That really takes away from progress for almost 100 levels. I don’t see that happening. Maybe lose the talents and abilities that have been in gear the last two expansions and put them in the spellbook and talent page/tree where they belong. That would add something to look forward to while leveling.

This is one of many alts. But I’m too lazy to farm forum rep on my main.

I would’ve been on my main from the start, but the forum started me on this character and I didn’t even realize, because I failed at paying attention. LOL

I fully support unlocking transmog level restrictions (I would never say no to more options), but I disagree that there are no good armor sets to be found at low level. There are some pretty nice looking BoE green sets and questing sets for sub-level 60s. (I think this character is lookin’ pretty good to start questing at level 20, personally) You can check out the transmog hub at Wowhead for all the different options. Admittedly, though, BoE greens are a lot harder to farm than raid sets, and if you had your heart set on a higher level raid set to begin with, I understand your disappointment (I rushed to level 60 on another alt for that very reason ).

Outland was known as the clown gear expansion :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Yup. There was a reason I farmed for the blue and silver recolor of the Feralheart set. LOL

Um, I was talking about character’s level. I can’t even tell what someone’s forum trust level is just by looking at their character.

When a character reaches lvl 98, you unlock legion gear for transmog if you’ve unlocked any for that armor type.
