I wonder why GG refuse to play Jellybeans?

Obviously, so why bother competing? Why doesn’t he ride the bench and let the other members of his team try and play. While he focuses on streaming. I know Jelly has had school work as his priority, but he seems like he wants to play.

No mage is going to play a hunter at a competitive level and vise versa, those classes have to just be your main for you to be successful with them at a tournament level. It’s not like they haven’t tried but it’s not really going to give you different results

If mages and hunters swapped positions and levels of prominence and strength all the teams people think are really versatile would be in a similar position to them and you’d be praising their comp diversity

Having a spriest play w/o a mage is just terrible rn but wiz is the most experienced caster on the team so he has to play it

There’s just not much else to do and they still like playing with each other as a team

Think necrolord buff is really good for rsham

Outside of hpals hpriests and rshams have been really good, can’t see why they wouldn’t be super solid now with Hpals being much worse

Care to explain what this is? Haven’t paid attention to covenant changes in a while.

They just buffed fleshcraft, made it a shorter channel which is insane w/ ultimate form

Yeah I hear you, however they arent really playing RMPal at a “competitive level” either. They could atleast be trying other things instead of just getting 0-3’d every week playing the same comp. I say all this as a fan btw, I’m in no way trying to be disparaging towards any of them. They are obviously light years better than I would ever be. It’s just disappointing to see a team you kinda root for get blasted over and over, doing the same thing. And seemingly not take it as serious as people they are competing against.

Having him spam play mage is basically just an investment into the future, losing like that gives more experience

They’d get the same results as any other comps anyways, can’t really change much else tbh

Right, so why not just spam lose on warrior or ele or something? If its going to yield the same results. Could that not also be considered a valuable investment seeing how warriors show no sign of falling out of favor. Or even Pika playing more WW. Idk it just seems like they have more options that they just choose not to use. You’ve made it a bit more understandable, however from a spectator/fan perspective it would be nice to see more.

This is the key phrase here. If they really only want to appeal to their fan base, they’d always play RPX. They’re a bit more concerned about their tourney status too, which is why playing Wiz on mage and also sometimes sticking to their bread and butter comp is giving them a middle ground for satisfying their fan base and making sure they’re finding success (making top 8 every cup) in AWC.

Eh, playing RMPal and getting 0-3’d every week isnt really showing concern about their tourney status. Especially when it seems fairly apparent they dont put as much practice into it as a team. But idk.

seeing them perform over and over like this in the tourneys, I’m just waiting to see that they had to change their team name back to The Move…

Imo Jelly is the best hunter NA and it’s insane watching him play, but he’s just not a good fit on the team. He’s been benched for years and he has a lot more potential than that.

I feel like Pika needs to convince the Xar to compete and replace Jelly. Having that mage main would open up so many tournament quality comps and they already get along together well.

But attempting to change to a widespread meta comp does indicate an effort to solidify their chances at making it to Round Robin (which they did). Can they surely manipulate the outcome lol? No, don’t think any team can. They only got 0-3d into really good teams and they put up a surprisingly good fight too.

Pretty sure they’d love to. Pika’s priority is his stream and he’s usually the centerpiece of the puzzle (as most of their comps have revolved around him).

I don’t think this is the move. Xar’s great, but I don’t think he even falls into the top 3 mage category. Sure having a mage main might increase their chances at winning cups, but not a great long term investment. Sterge is a sham main and has had a TON of experience playing with Jelly (since WoD playing sham/hunt/x). His synergy with Wiz is really good too. Pika & Jelly have played together since MoP (even competed together in a tourney in hopes to reach Bcon 2014). If anything, they have the perfect roster. They’ve just been very unlucky with the meta since 2019 which is unfortunate. Even the slightest swing that favors them after this upcoming patch will help them get back on their feet and display stellar performances.

Pika only uses his sap and one shot macro at 1400mrr games now

Right, and if his priority is his stream maybe they should find someone who prioritizes the competition and have him benched.

Quite possibly. Or as I’m anticipating, the small but substantial changes next patch might benefit them greatly to where time will tell how they’ll fare in the Round Robin.

Eh, idk. Rps and thug just aren’t meta comps and haven’t been in a long time. As soon as hunters were good (early xpac) they got nerfed lol. Same with sub.

All the synergy in the world won’t make up for the fact that rps just doesn’t do well into t1 comps at the tournament level.

The only reason we call these comps tier 1 is largely because of hpal and fire being absurdly busted. Psure if both these classes are reasonably tuned, they can work wonders with RPS.

Also RPS and thug (with rsham) were never really “meta” comps whenever The Move made them work back in Legion (when they started building up lots of hype). Rsham was the only healer that was super meta back then while the rest of the team’s main classes were not too prevalent. Early BFA was the only time when all of their main classes were potent and viable with diverse comp selections.

Crazy take, GG isn’t that good comp wise across the borard.

There was a period in BFA where he was getting benched quite frequently

Wizk is also fairly new on mage, so they will struggle there.

If there are resto shaman buffs in 9.1, with the 9.0.5 buffs to assassination, and Spriest being an S tier caster. They are looking to be terrifying in the next AWC season.

It also doesnt help that sterge hates Hpal, which he is pretty vocal about.

Jelly is “good” at Warrior relative to 99% of players but he would probably get stomped against the better AWC Warrior players.
