No it isn’t. The ‘bandage warrior’ argument is flawed. It is equating suboptimal dps specs with a literal meme that couldn’t possibly work at all. Look at the top ret pally parses on warcraftlogs and tell me that ret paladins are incapable of easily surpassing the individual dps requirements for any content currently in the game while also providing utility. Decent rets do more dmg than bad warriors/hunters. So, again, is dps output a consideration when deciding who gets to roll on their bis in pugs? Does everyone link their logs at the start of the dungeon and only the top parser gets items?
You could have DE’d it on the spot for bonus points.
(2) Set : +20 Armor
(3) Set : Increased Defense +2
Those are tank stats. It would seem to be intended for a tank.
However, it’s mail so Shaman tanking??
Why do you assume someone wants dps gear just for raiding? Also all this content has been cleared already, people will be raiding as ret, elemental, feral dps, etc. Finally that chest piece isn’t a “1 in a 100 drop”.
Or… and hear me out on this… it’s not intended for any single class, being that it’s not class specific and MAIL.
Warriors trying to claim a mail item as theirs. Honestly, is anyone buying any of this?
I’d say that items having type and classes having restrictions pretty well indicates that there was intent there. Not that any class has to stay with the original intent, if it was a hard rule then there would be class restrictions.
I don’t mind if a plate wearer puts on chain or leather or cloth, I’m just saying that the type of armor, stats, and set bonuses point more towards being designed for a shaman. If it works for others then cool!
All items in the set have Agility, Stamina, some Strength, and the set bonus is normal Crit, +AP, and some AC and Defense (the bonus is underwhelming TBH and inconclusive). These are generic stats for any class that melees face to face. I would agree a Shaman could probably get the most out of it, but it’s a set that fits many specs.
It’s certainly NOT somehow owned by Warriors. Holy snapping ducks the level of manipulative entitlement behind that assertion is staggering, even for these forums. When did Warriors become the new Vanilla Huntards?
Warriors greed is ridiculous there is so many of them especially dps warriors that quite frankly they aren’t special and don’t deserve special treatment. Why on earth would you tank arena when you don’t even have a shot at the one thing he would even need from it?
Last night I had a dps warrior roll on naglering when I was tanking as a pally that is one of the best rings we can get for tanking and that warrior was like “hmmm I might tank later could be useful”. I’ve even had a warrior roll on lightforge leggings not even the tier pieces are safe.
Sorry, but rolling warrior doesn’t entitle you to anything especially not in a pug because you getting something doesn’t benefit me in any shape or form I don’t care how much better it is for your class than mine we can’t just pass on everything forever.
It is a pug. If he wanted it soo bad he should’ve res it.
You are right, they wrong.
Yup, this exactly. I rerolled from my Hunter, but whenever a Warrior would roll against me for a ranged weapon and I’d question it, they’d always respond with…
“You’re a Hunter, you steal loot all the time”.
Riiiight.
It’s a pug. The end
No. But I get why they’re upset.
The plate wearer didn’t ask if they could roll on a mail piece?
To me it’s not even about the type of armour it is because get real this is classic you take whatever works. They had an equal chance of getting the chain, but they just want to justify why they should get it with no competition. I guess if the ret is in a brd group and a warrior shows up they just aren’t allowed to roll for hand of justice now simply because the warrior gets more dps from it?
It’s because the chain is rare that’s why they will make any excuse in the book for why you shouldn’t be able to roll on it and only they can.
They’re DPS sure, but it’s a high value piece that rarely drops. They can easily make their own group to farm Arena for it.
The greed both you and the others displayed makes me feel sorry for you and the people you will torture in the future.
The question is why though… I guess the disconnect is from looking at it from the perspective of what is better for the group and what is better for the individual. I understand some people abandon this when grouped with strangers but I wouldn’t feel right snagging a bis bow from a hunter just because hes a stranger when im on warr.
This is why ur better off playing warrior on horde, dont have to worry bout pallys taking all ur gear.
Except when does it end? There will always be new people in the group you can’t just keep passing otherwise you will never get it rets would stand 0 chance at any loot if they did this.
Warrior gear entitlement is out of control. Personally i blame every corner of the internet telling people that warriors are the “masterclass” of wow and numero uno dps and defacto tank (despite the vast majority of warriors dont actually want to tank). They’re then told that their preraid bis is everything and that because you are top dog dps, you should have preference over any other class.
Just wait for battlegrounds where we will no doubt hear more sooking from warriors who are getting kited to death by the plethora of frostbolt spamming mages and how paladins who DARE to do anything but pocket support them should be blacklisted.
