I wish they would put an end to the DPS healer meta

I honestly knew that was coming lol

You can still have healers doing damage on downtime and still kill the dps healer meta. Just nerf all healer damage significantly so it has very little impact.

Once Upon a time resto druids dealt damage to everyone around their targets who had HOTS on them. That was a fun talent which should return if they want druids to see viable playability in M+ and raid.

This sounds like the opposite of balance. If class x is the best for pvp and worst for raids and class y is the best for raids and worst for pvp. Then you have all class x in raids feeling bad and all class y in pvp feeling bad.

Where if you just has classes x and y competitive in pvp and raids than everyone is happy. You can have balance in all aspects of the game without classes feeling homogenized.

They could remove healers and thus damage from the game. Death would have to be based on failing whatever mechanics were in an encounter. Tank doesn’t have appropriate cooldown up then dead. DPS stands in fire for cumulative 3 seconds then dead.

Sounds more of an issue with pugs than it is a problem with a given spec.

Blizzard just needs to buff healers with bad damage, the truth is that on higher keys and difficulties healers will be doing a lot of damage because dps getting hit by avoidable mechanics means they die so they can’t be healed.

Get my coffee brewing before I shower in the morning is the morning meta move.

Your recipe example is kind of limited. I know about 15 different ways to make oatmeal cookies. I can make up more as I go by trying out new things. It turns out, this is all about changing amounts, order of introduction, additions to the recipe, subtle changes in flavor. If you’re limited to one “recipe” and can’t build on it or reinvent it, you’re not really all that great of a cookie maker.

The meta is just a term/concept that arises from the MDI mentality. “I won’t play with you if you don’t use the meta”. Pfft. There are plenty of people playing the game that don’t play the flavor of the day, or spec differently because of how they play. Go look at the top players per class per realm and you’ll find fewer pure meta players than you might expect.

A good player isn’t one that makes a checklist of the proper stats, the proper BiS, memorizes the order of key pressing and then practices that all day. A good player is one that can excel without a meta.

WoW punishes those people.

That’s why I play Holy Parsadin

But do you turn on the oven before mixing your ingredients together?

yeah man, meta didn’t exist before that. good point.

not always. There are some really interesting oatmeal cookies that don’t actually require an oven. And having a single tool that you feel is indispensable is different than specifying exactly what model of oven, spatula, mixing bowl as everyone else.

It’s just a silly argument.

Well I’ve made my point and it was quite clear, since you’re dead set on trying your best to ignore/ disprove what I’ve said, have fun with that.

All classes can do practically all content.

Unless you’re doing bleeding edge content, your spec might as well not matter.

The only thing I got out of that is that he really likes oatmeal cookies

I don’t have any problem with healers DPSing I have a problem with 2 of the healing specs being a lot more effective at it.

I haven’t played a resto druid in a while, they still great AoE heals and very mobile?
