WOW is still a bit acceptably dark. The Ring of Glory delve is twisted enough, we kill things and kick their heads into goals, so there are at least a couple people in the dev team still capable of making wow gritty. Even makes me want to queue up some Cannibal Corpse.
Don’t be silly. Everyone knows grit physically can’t coexist with color.
My wife hates the kickball stuff… I’m better at it. ![]()
I think its more that the general tone of the game seems this weird mix of cozy game and like a dnd campaign where every character goes off script to do some quirkchungus type thing instead of us beating up the lich by beating it up. Nothing really feels epic i guess would be the word for it? Like go watch all the expansion opening cinematics from vanilla through now and you’ll notice a distinct tone shift around the point of dragonflight. This isn’t to say its all bad but it is different.
I second Pinars observation. Moments of grit as a side dish- just keep leaving us confused.
Out of SL and into DF was definitely a culture shock, like they overcorrected for the doom and gloom of specifically, the Maw.
Hmm, WOW Noir with more Vampires and Werewolves might be cool.
