Same with this LFG WOTLK have right now nobody bother to speak, nobody want to speak with random people in a random dungeon, they just want to loot their gear or do their quests or whatever reason they are in the dungeon for not to “Sociallize” They have discord or twitter and etc for that.
Damn when was your last time? Since it never was this bad and boring ever, even WoD or BFA had better dungeons experience in general.
this was my experience grinding out sm gy, lib, arm, and cath and then later zf. nobody really talked except to hurl insults (usually in spanish) for wiping/pulling too small
I have to ask, do the pro-RDF forces actually think that “social interaction” means chatting and having deep conversations? Because it does not. Marking mobs is social interaction, teamwork is social interaction, knowing and caring about the group member’s classes and specs, getting a feel for how they play, and having it affect how you play is social interaction. Go to a local basketball court and watch some pickup games or people player other RL sports. They aren’t having “riveting conversation” but nobody would say they are not having social interaction.
This, they will wait until WOTLK lose some players and then in few months they gonna add RDF to get waves of new people and other coming back just for RDF and make some Easy $$$$$$, if they added RDF day 1 they would actually have lost money doing that.
It’s the MO, unfortunately by the time they stop being stubborn its already too late most won’t come back, they can only hope to entice new ones, so many times I have seen them made bad choices stick to their guns before having to back down and put it in as a “We listened to your feedback” (no, no you didn’t), for whatever reason they seem to like losing people. Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face.
Early SL was the last time I did much with retail PVE, it was really garbage at that time, but has improved a lot, but MOP it is not. Early first patch SL was completely garbage…
Imo first half of WoD’s pve (raids) were actually really good, but its uncool to say word had nice content. I’m probly the only person who disliked SOO in MOP, but my god, all the content before SOO was excellent, likely best wow pve ever.
Kinda picky about pve, not only does the architecture need to be on point, but the story needs to be there also, and its nice to have fights that requires you have a brain, but its wow, so the last part is partly optional.
you know whats dead? trying to find literally any party on a server with 99.9% of 1 faction or a server with only 2000 players on between specific hours. Instead of getting a dead party you get literally NO party. I had to reroll off my server a week before wotlk release because I couldnt find a single party on my server for any level bracket. Not even hellfire ramparts runs because everyone just soloed them now. Forget even trying to level a new toon. There was literally no dungeons and LFG chat was dead as a doornail. RDF is a needed tool because blizzard refuses to fix their server issues. There should only be like 2 mega servers, but they dont want to cough up the dough to run better tech, so instead they make a ton of dead servers that are worthless to play on
No one talks in wrath dungeons either without RDF. So what’s your point?
Being able to make groups faster is simply better. The dungeons should be the content, not endlessly searching for players and wading through a sea of afk people to find a healer or tank for your group.
Heroic dungeons with RDF are similar to LFR in difficulty.
I literally solo everything on my DK, often I queue for tanking for the bag of goods and I just ignore everyone and just go pulling everything and killing everything.
May be how you see it, but that’s not the general consensus. The general consensus is Retail has no social interaction anymore but all those things are present and common in retail.
Also your analogy doesn’t work. It work if I cared about my teammates height, weight and stats but I don’t. It’s a pickup scrimmage. All that’s happening is me calling someone a poopsock after I dunk on them.
Expecting anyone to be social is the mistake. The game must CREATE situations where players NEED to communicate in order to break the ice and start conversion. From there it will flow.
Why expect players to do something when it’s within the game’s power to push them into being social.
No one talks in retail dungeons because the only people willing to play Retail also consider watching multiple layers of paint drying to be a good time. They’re too far gone to realize it’s just regurgitated whale scat being injected into their veins and will always stay subbed as long as it’s got the WoW logo slapped on it to appease their addict brains. The exact same thing is seen with each release of FIFA – near-identical game, new year typed up on the front of the case which certain folks are more than happy to shell out $50-$80 for. RDF didn’t cause the current state of Retail dungeons, attrition of all sentient life and players with standards happened.
That’s wrong. Any time you put players in situations where they don’t need to communicate they usually won’t, conversely if they need to communicate they will. If the difficulty requires voice chat then they will use that.
These small pushes are all that’s required to create relationships within the game. Take them out and you’re taking out the seeds of the relationships that the game depends on.
It is the game, not the players that cause retail to be the way that it is.
In my experience ( with the exception of a few ) dungeon group are just completely lifeless even right now. Over the last 6-7 weeks I’ve played quite a bit and have done plenty of dungeons and the first few weeks I tried being social and people just don’t engage at all, almost feels like I’m being straight ignore to the point that I don’t even try anymore. Our community is extremely dry and meaningless I have no clue what people are talking about with “socializing” within dungeon groups
