There are multiple guilds on my server that formed a coalition for world bosses and when anyone else comes around and tries to contest them they group together and right-click nameplate and report for language/spam to silence them.
I’m currently silenced for scouting them… I didn’t say anything offensive I didn’t spam the only thing I did was stand on top of them… Please look into my situation the last time this happened it took 3 days for the ticket to be answered and the silenced removed.
Also please consider looking into the broken automated system that simply causes more harm than good.
Silences are not automated, you are likely currently under the effects of a squelch, which is currently working as intended.
When the reports against you are reached, a GM will make a determination at that time.

I don’t care what you call it I just know I can’t type in game or even to my bnet friends and neither can half my guild they mass reported so many of us for no reason. I sure hope this type of system abuse has consequences.
The only way to have a squelch or a silence removed is to appeal it via a ticket. And yes, abusing the reporting system can indeed get people into trouble.

I already opened a ticket in game I opened one here as well because my luck with response time on forums has been much better and if abusing the system can get you into trouble then why is this the third time I’ve been silenced like this within a month?
It just keeps happening and I never see the person who is initiating it get into any sort of trouble.
One ticket to appeal is all that is necessary, having more than one won’t help. You can get a reply here, but it’s not a replacement for a ticket.

Tickets in game had taken me over three days to get a reply. The last time I had posted one here it was answered in a day I’ll take my chances here. I shouldn’t have to sit silenced for three days for doing nothing wrong.
Nor would you ever. You’re never told about actions taken on anyone else’s account. On top of that, it sounds like it’s a group of people, not a single individual doing this (as it takes several reports to initiate a squelch).
But as Kozzae pointed out, this isn’t a ticket. It’s a forum for players to help other players. On top of that, the Blues here are not a part of the team that would overturn silences. Not sure what you might have experienced in the past, but the ticket system is the right way to go.

Sadly there is a pandemic going on on top of all of the unrest. People have been locked indoors and so more people are playing, leading to more than normal tickets being made while the majority of Blizzard staff (if not all) are working from home. It is just taking a little longer than usual for everyone - only compromised accounts are really getting any sort of a precedence, so it isn’t just you who has had to endure longer than normal wait times.
It sucks, but it is the fact of the matter. And as has been noted, this is a player helping player forum for customer support, not customer service. It may be that you’ll be lucky to get a response from a SFA, but it should never expected here as a work-around to ticket times and responses.

Likely because that was the time frame at that time, but ticket time lately has been running around 24 hours from a post yesterday. Posting though will not make it so you get a faster response to a ticket.

The forums are not a means to bypass ticket wait times Contic. We do staff these forums in order to offer guidance and answer general questions, as well as oversee discussions between players to offer corrections if necessary.
I can confirm that your ticket is currently in queue thought. Thank you for submitting it through the proper channel. It will be addressed as the Game Masters are able to reach it.

Look I apologize I’m not really trying to “Bypass” anything at least not intentionally here. I’m just really frustrated that I’ve been silenced a good number of times while doing nothing wrong… Not being able to communicate in classic wow GREATLY effects gameplay and I’d say its borderline unplayable while being “squelched” as you call it.

Dang, that sucks, dude! Sorry you’re suffering from this. Hopefully Blizz can get you unsquelched quickly and do something to keep this crap from continuing to happen.
A suggestion that may help prevent further recurrences of this when you’re spotting for a group, guild, or raid:
Don’t tally-ho on General Chat. I know of a lot of players that get bent out of shape by that, and their spam reports are as valid as anyone else’s until the squelch is reviewed by a GM. If they’re abusing the reporting mechanism, they may get actioned, but the damage is already done.
Instead, make a distinct named chat channel and have your rare-hunters join that.
