Yea but I think you’re really offended by WoW comparing things to FFXIV or vice versa. Dragon riding is very similar to owning Chocobo’s in FFXIV where you can customize them.
How is it honesty when you don’t know how their operations work internally and behind the scenes.
I am just irritated that people thinks that somehow FF14 is by default the best game in the whole world and better than say World of Warcraft when that’s not even true at all.
As someone who played WoW since vanilla thru MoP and off and on since then as well as FFXIV ARR til now, I can honestly say, overall, FFXIV is better polished at the moment.
I can also say each do their thing better than the other in different ways. IE: FFXIV Raid Mechanics > WoW Raid Mechanics but WoW’s type of Raids are better than FFXIV’s.
Trolling troll trolls.
Ok. Come back next expension
Entirely different situations.
FF14 1.0 was built on rotten foundations, it needed to be dynamited and rebuilt from scratch, which is what they did.
While all WoW needed to do was to clean its place up and take out the trash bags that had piled up in the past 5 years.
And that’s what they did.
And here is how you destroy your own credibility
No, it was most certainly not worse than FFXIV 1.0.
FFXIV 1.0 was so bad that it needed emergency fixing (ARR) to salvage the entire Final Fantasy brand. XIV was so dogwater on release that its very existence jeopardized a franchise that has been around since the 80s.
No one ever said the hive mind was reasonable. ![]()
Lol it wasn’t even one iota as bad as ff 1.0 and the fact you say that means I don’t trust you were there.
They already did that with Shadowlands ![]()
What is that a picture of? FF14 1.0?
There’s no map or area in-game that looks that way.
I just want evergreen content.
I’m tired of being locked to an expansion and having absolutely everything from 7 expansions previous be useless/outdated.
There’s so many things they can do…but refuse to do it. Don’t know why.
Hello, I see you replied to the thread. Unfortunately, the closest thing WoW has to evergreen content is PvP! The bad part is, even that isn’t technically evergreen content considering in order to have a decent PvP experience, you need to level to the current expansions level cap as well as grind up that expansions PvP gear! WoW has always been horrible in this department!
Thanks for your post and have a great day!
It’s 1.0. ARR, wisely enough, opted to change the Black Shroud.
It was a nightmare zone beforehand.
Holy crap. It really was that complicated in 1.0?
Looks like a boulder every few feet!
Ya, this really resonates with me
Opinion: I think they “accidentally” discovered the formula/recipe when they rolled out 9.1.5 recycled Mage Tower. Even though it was “old” content I found it really enjoyable, it was strangely… addicting. And it was obviously popular with the general public too - especially judging by the very high engagement/activity levels on forums and reddit
If they wanted to, I bet they could “expand” on this timewalking Mage Tower-style recycling with other earlier expansions/earlier content.
Here’s some evergreen stuff they could do:
Professions: (not evergreen) but completely eliminate the profession requirements for all mounts. Meaning anyone could purchase the items on the AH.
Have recipes have a random (easy to farm( consumable or two from older expansions that could generate a unique effect. Example: Glowcaps from BC could be used in PvP to confuse an enemy and have a mushroom
on top of their head (a la Earthbound).
Have all level 70’s be able to be synced to lower level instances to fill out the roster for those looking for groups using LFG tool.
Have the instances drop tokens for the higher level players so they can ultimately trade them in for appropriate higher level gear/items/recipes/rewards.
Example/ level 70 gets synced to a Deadmines group. They get 5 [seals of whatever]. They can get 50-100 seals to get a pet or a piece of armor…etc.
An island similar to Timeless Isle where everyone is auto synced to same ILVL or automatically given the same gear/level.
Have ultra rare mounts you can possibly get from elites, things you can farm, puzzles, caves to explore, pets to get, battle pets…you name it, it could be up for grabs.
A 40 vs 40 PVP battleground per expansion. Make it similar to AV where battles can rage on for multiple days at a time and anyone at anytime can join and be teleported there.
For PVE: random world bosses that appear in previous expansions. It could be Draenor, Pandaria…etc.
Make them appear once a month and make it so you need multiple raid groups to defeat it…like Everquest or FF11 back in the day.
Cross faction guilds and communication is desperately needed to balance servers.
First and last names is desperately needed for character customization, as well as server transfers.
Have a new class of gear called “cosmetic.” Make it available for all classes and have the appearances be: cloth, plate, mail, leather, etc. Only white items with no statistics…basically that would allow every class to wear whatever for non-instanced content. So mages can wear a full set of plate if they wanted to while RP’ing.
Torghast like dungeons WITHOUT timers.
Similar to POTD/HOH in FF14.
100 floors. Traps, tough enemies, random layouts. Cosmetic rewards/gear given per 20 floors for completion.
Enable Mythic Plus without timers for those who want to challenge themselves without a time constraint. Keep it the same for those who run keys currently–but enable an option without timers as well.
Make DMF a permanent zone and keep it up 24/7. Different rewards monthly for tokens. Could be pets, battle pets, gear, cosmetics, illusions for spells, gold for DMF token exchange, etc.
Have world quests be part of the world. Unlock world quests–but make them appear in all current and previous expansions. Maybe 2-3 per expansion?
Eastern Kingdoms could be a STV rare mob hunt…Kalimdor could be a race on the Goblin track in Azshara.
There’s hundreds of activities that could be opened up that way to give us a reason (even if it is just for a couple minutes) to go back and visit a zone.
Blizzard is never going todo a realm reborn moment since alot of that required the devs to trash the engine they were doing and remake the game.
Fact is they burned themselves and its going to take multiple expansions to regain player trust
