It was weird during Dragonflight when dracthyr were restricted to only evoker. Would’ve made sense back then to at least have the three roles.
Yeah and that was a super popular decision that has seen widespread support, right?
Quite frankly yes.
There are 39 specs at present in WoW and the Devs have to put forward a herculian amount of effort to try and balance all of them so that they are viable in content which they struggle with and the addition of additional non-DPS specs hasn’t really expanded the number of tanks and healers. There is like… 16 years of data to back this up this position.
It’s also a case that while survival became a melee it didn’t functionally change it’s role; it was still about pushing out damage just with a greater focus on being in close.
Survival hunters went melees because you should not be 40 years away in PVp and hit serpent sting and healing debuff coupled with inholybdk necrotic strike.
Tuning on survival had. Nothing to do with the hunter class but how broken survival was in arena.
make a VDH. they have wings.
you could name it Sapphirrahastrazza and pretend that it is demonic dragon or something.
If OP is being held back from tanking solely because they can’t do it on evoker, they were probably never going to consistently tank in the first place.
Should not balance pve with pvp. Should be separate systems entirely.
Looks like a Dracthyr, talks like a Troll.
Because Evoker is an extremely mobile class that brings a healer throughput buff, additional mobility buffs to their party, has 2 ranged caster dps specs, no taunt, heroism, two dispels, a 90/60 second CD to heal back all damage taken. Their default kit would make them such an absurdly mobile tank it’d be absurd.
Neltharion: “I made the perfect soldiers to defend Azeroth!”
Evokers; “Ow, a stiff breeze”
Neltharion: “… Never mind, put them all into stasis.”
You can still try.
Just ask the mage tank to let you get aggro first.
This was done a decade ago. Most won’t even care anymore right now.
Being a little cheeky is considered trolling now?
Now those a good reasons I can get behind.
My issue with your statement is that they released Augmentation, which has been an absolute balancing nightmare. Blizzard introduced a support spec which we never really had (maybe a few specs in vanilla) and balance went to crap. They could have gone with a tank spec instead.
Buuut having read another comment, I agree it would be a balancing nightmare for a tank to have all the utility that Evokers have. So yes, that’s a good reason to not let them be tanks.
None of that makes the OP prissy, find a better adjective in the future.

I like my dragon and don’t want to play another class.
That’s a shame. This isn’t ESO, though. Not every class can do every role. Some classes only have DPS specs.
You need to become the ceo then problem solved.
I feel this generation of developers just lack imagination.
i think they have plenty of imagination but more for outdated stuff nobody wants or just things they think players want because im their mind its a good idea
I have the same problem. I want to tank so bad but my mage can’t be a tank. Why? It makes no sense! Just give us what we want so we don’t have to hold our breath or stomp our feet! Let us tank Blizzard!
Make Aug a tank.
