What?? Never, and I mean never, have I suggested Sylvanas is in any way justified for any of the crap she’s done with the lone exception of withdrawing Horde forces before they got slaughtered in the Legion opener.
They both, as currently written, would be well-served by a long walk off a short pier.
Make a suit from the corpse of garrosh put it on her the proceed to have a BBQ Buffalo Bill style well even serve a buffet table which include delicacies from all over including fava beans and endless bottles of chianti
I agree with you that the entire " oh wait and see " has gotten old long ago. Sylvanas always worked from the shadows, but how they wrote her lately is silly.
I don’t care what Blizzard thinks, but for me she is the only major contrast left in the game. Every other race/leader has a common cause now, everyone is rallied under the White-in-shining-armor banner, and that kills the balance of the story.
Factions/races can have the same goals, sure, but their methods should never align. That would kill the core of the wow universe.
A rogue angry Night elf needs to assassinate Anduin for his failure to protect Darkshore, then start a faction war within the Alliance. Then all the elves need to unite starting an elven faction that seeks to stand away from and against the rest of the weak races of Azeroth. This will finally answer the question as to why the elves of Azeroth would tolerate orc or human leaders. They wouldn’t and shouldn’t.
Down with Anduin. Down with Thrall. No more elves taking leads from non-elf leaders that do nothing productive for the elves.
Blood elves. Nightborne, Void Elves, and Night Elves for themselves and the return of the High Elves.
i find this song incredibly (and coincidentally) fitting for sylvanas and this thread specifically so i’m leaving this here. also i suggest an eternity locked away with anduin, that’s enough torture for anyone’s soul.
I actually really liked how that showdown went down. It felt like Sylvanas showed us her weakness is cruelty, which was a polar opposite in life - which was devotion and sacrifice (which further seems like she hates, and wants to forget such things exist). I think she feels emotions like Hope are a weakness, although her weakness is still emotional albeit - again - more violent.
She exploded - literally and figuratively - at the end because she was tired of being told she failed. She was tired of having to play this charade with those of us (seemingly everyone else) whom were incapable of seeing what she saw. She was tired of being privy to stuff hat others weren’t and watching them fight over nothing while she - if only in her own mind - was doing other, higher echelon stuff.
I also agree with
That she’s not a changed individual but thrust into this position. In before the storm, Sylvanas laments that she didn’t want War Chief. I’m interested to see how this develops in Shadowlands. I think she was reluctant to take Warchief because perhaps she felt it would thwart her ability for clandestine work, such as xalatath.
To conclude: I find her an interesting character and have enjoyed learning about her motives. The transhuman aspect of the undead - and how they view life and emotions - is fascinating to me, so that adds to my bias here.
Ohhhhh I hv no hard feelings about Sylvanass but Blizz attitude is really annoying. We lost Teldrassil, Saurfang, and many other lives because of her throughout the expansion and she has her STORY? Which possibly justifies her actions? and Blizz wants to persuade us about its legitimacy?
If Kerrigan can get away with killing Fenix, a noble warrior that everyone loved, then Sylvanas can get away with killing a bunch of elves nobody knew or cared about.
The only character that Sylvanas killed that was the least bit important was King Greymane’s son, and even then that was in a starter zone that’s getting deleted soon enough anyway.
Name one person of any significance that Sylvanas has succeeded in killing?
Honestly, now that you’ve mentioned this, have any of the faction leaders 86’d anyone of repute? Thrall took out Garrosh but he wasn’t a faction leader at the time.
(Though I digress from your question: I can’t picture anyone Sylvanas has directly killed. Even Garithos was at the hands of Varimathras and before Vanilla WoW)
I want Sylvanas head hanging from Stormwind Gates. So that newbie Alliance players leveling up running through that area can throw potatoes and tomatoes at her head.
Hopefully Sylvanas will become the hero she is meant to be in shadowlands Lilithia is correct. Sylvanas is just a pragmatic leader. If she is just a plain villain then she would have killed Bolvar right there and then. Sure she kills her enemies that wanted her dead also but that is war
Same with Anduin, Baine, et al. According to “A Good War,” she only wanted Tyrande and Malfurion killed to further the wedge between the Eastern Kingdom alliance and Night Elves. There wasn’t a hint of animosity or spite.
However, when she lets her rage or cruelty out, she makes mistakes. I think that makes her - to me - an interesting character.
