I used to feel a sense of pride when I explained WoW's main story to my friends

Story aside, when it came to WoW, I would tell people, “yes, I do play it.”

WoW was the “mainstream” MMO - it wasn’t some dirty, filthy, uncouth thing for nerds to waste their non-existent lives on. It had commercials with Mr. T! It was cool! … or, as cool as a computer game could be.

Now when I’m asked if I still play WoW? … “Yes, but mostly out of habit. I wouldn’t recommend getting into it now.”

I feel like I’ve been saying that for a long, long time now…

True it has changed to a point where it has sort of become this old thing you have an inside joke about but very few people are interested in it now that bigger and better things have implemented stuff in a better way.

I don’t know about pride, but there’s a lot of stories I really, really enjoy sharing.

that’s really not how human communication works but as long as your friends understand you i guess that’s what matters!

it writes itself folks. I don’t need humility in this context (there’s a correct usage of that word btw). i’m not incorrect in this thread. I don’t have weird niche complaints that I feel the need to get affirmation on by posting publicly on the largest WoW forum there is. You do. And everyone told you you’re wrong. And you just get more and more defensive.

I dont talk to anyone about Wow, the story telling is terrible.

You’re trying really hard to get me to be like you: I need validation from everyone or I’m sad.

Yeah no thank you. If people don’t agree with me it’s not a big deal.

Interesting. Tell me more.

Hoenstly, I wish I could say otherwise.

pixie reptile? able when the apple expired.

see, communication is difficult when you assign your own meanings to words randomly. not sure what that has to do with “validation” unless that word has a special meaning for you also.

Since when are we having Pyri’s Instant Communication (Just add water!) being delivered on these forums?

You could post a few more “communication” lessons and I wouldn’t really care enough.

xD. Getting drunk off copium. "IT DOESN’T MATTER IF PEOPLE THINK I’M WEIRD I’M QUIRKY AND EVERYONE BUT ME JUST SUCKS!’ if you don’t already post on 4chan, that’s your future.

fwiw - the validation is irrelevant, you’re sad regardless

Hmm should I tell him/her now?

Nah. I think we can wait. :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT: And good job cutting off a part of my post just to not make yourself look like a clown:

you do you my friend, just learn to accept being a loner if you continue acting that way. i’m beginning to worry whatever you suffer from might be e-contagious, and in the interest of never having any interaction with someone like you again, i’ma head out

you started it by posting a thread where you expect everyone to know what you mean by your word “pride” which apparently means something different when you use it. I’m just following your lead!

You’re really tempting me to tell you the truth of why I’m responding to you. But I’m fairly sure I can keep it a “secret” for much longer. :stuck_out_tongue:

Did I ask for Your Majesty’s enlightened discourse on what is proper communication by posting a thread about storytelling in World of Warcraft?

Sure and it does explain the situation with other events like Vol’jin and the dreadlords.

yes. this is a public forum. if you don’t want feedback, write in your diary.

I loved Voljin’s ascent into what is probably a “god” character with Bwonsamdi helping him out on the way.

One of the better stories I went through in the Night Fae storyline. One can hope that more of this is on the way.

Good to know that the irony of you ordering me to do something on a public forum is not lost on you.

What a whirlwind of a thread.

Holy cow.
