Your problem is that you just accepted this character assassination and went along with it, and only stopped when it started looking like they would reverse it.
If Blizzard is destroying your favourite character, you should be kicking up a stink about it. That’s what most of us have been doing. I excuse all of Sylvanas’ crimes not because I think they’re okay, but because the more Blizz tries to go “PLEASE HATE SYLVANAS” the more I go “Nah. Write a real story.”

The book wouldn’t be necessary if Blizz wasn’t insistent on shrouding everything Sylvanas does in fake mystery. Before BFA, we had a perfect understanding of Sylvanas: She resents the living for abandoning her, is sad that her friends and family think she’s a monster, is still intensely traumatized by the abuse she’s suffered, and is trying to avoid an unjust condemnation to Hell by any means possible.
Simple character to understand if you possess a shred of human empathy and don’t hate women (which should be most people). But the dynamic duo of Ion and Steve just had to stick their fingers in it and hype up this big mystery, exploiting Sylvanas’ status as the most popular character in the game in order to bait more subscribers.
“We can’t be up front about Sylvanas’ goals, because then you might not care about seeing the end and unsub!”

Yes, paint me sexist, it’s not that characters are trash - i just hate women.
Thrall is crippled after Metzen left, whatever they are doing with Lor’Themar i do not approve, Anduin is complete garbage, i hate him since MoP, Greymane is just pathetic old man shouting at sky can never do anything right.

Idk man, I very much still relate with Sylvanas her struggles and emotions. Hence the reason I grew to like her more over the last recent years. Before Legion I felt very indifferent about her and liked Jaina way more.
Such is the burden of having information the masses do not have. They will hate you for speaking a truth they aren’t aware of because it doesn’t match their own world view or goals and desires.

I wish Blizzard would stop ruining Horde characters for cheap plots.
I honestly never liked Thrall that much but granted I got into the story after he was already ruined.
Lor’themar was great pre-bfa after that he freefall’d off a cliff for me.
I actually like Anduin more then I should. I love hating him. I like his little quirks and his optimsm. I dunno he’s a great character actually. (but seeing as I also enjoy Sylvanas her writing I think it corrolates well.).
Greymane 100% agree. I dont hate him because He’s an opposing character I hate him because he’s exactly what you describe. Thats why Tyrande is 100% better. I hate her but I also can see her being a good character written in a bad night elf plot.

And honestly hate Maiev with a passion. Like hate her, hate her and want her out of the story. But maybe thats cause Im a DH main.
Really? Why didn’t you like her? I thought she was pretty good in Legion. She seemed like typical Sylvannas at that point.
I like Maiev because she’s completely unhinged psychopath that ready to kill even her own faction leaders just because she’s not approving their actions (but that Maiev probably died in BFA)
Mostly because in legion they put her up in front, but at the same time she started all those 5d chess with secrets and questionable allies like Helya, it was annoying then and just got worse later

I forgot about Trial of Valor and Helya. Actually skipped that raid. However, I still love that cut scene with her and Greymane. Best one right after Ysera’s death.
She did? The scenario has her on her knees and Im pretty sure the Alliance scenario is cannon there. Didnt see her die, die there.
