People weren’t happy to let me just say, I found healing boring, so yes that is what would make healing more interesting to me because I want to damage the boss, not just sit around and keep others alive (even when they don’t deserve to be kept alive) so they can damage the boss.
Only your atonements will be healed by your damage. Other priests atonements will not be healed by your damage and your atonements will not be healed by other priests damage.
I mean, disc priests heal through damage, and paladins actually bring a good bit of damage synchronicity to their healing as well, and every healer should throw DPS at mobs between heals, but if you just straight up hate healing and want to be a DPS why are you even here talking with us about healing?
As a holy priest main, I disagree. Yes, pvp sucks more for priest healers, but a priest that knows their class isnt totally helpless against a single person, especially at max level. And, though people won’t go out of their way to guard you, they will generally help if you are nearby.
PvE gets more exciting and challenging at max level. And your PvP groups will become more helpful and organized the higher the level bracket you get to. And as you become better with the class and unlock all your skills it will be much easier.
I’ve played many healers over the years and xpaks. I mained priest up till Legion then I played around with Shammy and druid. Everything you mentioned I experienced a lot over years. You aren’t doing anything wrong. Low level dungeon healing is just kind of boring. Unless you have a group that is way too pull happy or keep going out of range or sight, there just isn’t much there. As for BG’s there would be groups that were really good and coordinated and then there would be groups that would just let me or any healer get slaughtered. It gets better and more challenging at higher levels. Keep at it.
if ur playing a healer for PVP go disc… if u want a healer thats well rounded go Druid for pvp and M+ or go Monk for M+ and raid… Priest is good holy for raid, disc for pvp and M+… what is your game play? what are your goals and then from that goal figgure out what class/spec u should run
First off cant tell you how to enjoy it. My fun is staying alive long enough while dps’s cant kill me.
Secondly in PvP dont follow your nearest dps. Stay with either the flag carrier who is most important if he’s being looked after stay with the group going for enemy flag carrier.
As for priest I enjoy Holy but thats pure heals. But Disc gives you satisfaction of burning through enemies while healing yourself and team mates. Also I prefer priest for PvE over PvP but thats just me.
Most fun I have healing pvp was with my monk but I havent played her in BfA yet.
Worst healing experience I havre is with Paladin.
Monks really are very good at single target and 5-man healing. I have gotten to where I use my priest for raids and pvp, and my monk for m+ because after trying the monk the priest just feels … underwhelming in 5-mans. Monk heals verge on being OP in a very fun and fulfilling way.
Neither. But the bonus week bads are out in force. I stay up nights thinking of all the uses I have for your opinion.
I went to the priest forum, explained I was having a lot of trouble healing on BGs, because of constant CCing. And they had absolutely nothing helpful to offer. Just “Duuuuuuuuh! Dey supposed to come back and help you when you get CCed!”
How nice! My issues are solved if everyone else does what they’re (according to the Priest forum) “supposed” to do. How wonderful to be totally dependant on everyone else doing their job. And if they don’t, well, that’s just too bad for you, isn’t it?
Of course if they choose not to, and they generally do, you’re just out of luck.
Of course, you’re an Undead Priest, while mine is a Lightforged Dranei, so of course, with your racial innates, that explains why you’re having less issue.
Call it what you want, but sounds like you have no experience as a priest/healer and are telling people that they should give up because the game is broken. Then you actually have the gall to call other people bonus week bads.
And I can take my racial off my bar and still perform in bgs, so the fact that you don’t have the long-neutered undead racial isn’t your problem.
(Edit: Basically if you’re getting CC chained then your positioning is bad. Obligatory ‘git gud situation’)
My advice is just to avoid PvP if you doesn’t have a group, friends or guild to play like me, random BGs are frustrating, unless, of course, you are a broken discipline priest.
PvE is fun and enjoyable especially on higher levels, most people i’ve met on mythic + and raid pugs were cool and nice.
unless, of course, you are a broken discipline priest.
Disc isn’t broken. It was nerfed into the ground last year…
I hope so, but people always tend to say that their classes aren’t broken.
My idea actually would increase the interest and fun in healing. Of course, that ability would have to be on like a 30 minutes cooldown but I would find it hard to believe that most healers wouldn’t welcome that ability.
It would add interest, and it would probably save people getting kicked as well because you could just kill them instead, help kill the boss and who cares if that person is useless after that. They actually would in that situation be useful to the group.
Will it make you feel better if I say that disc isn’t broken from the monk I main right now? I swear, it’s true. I just don’t have a pretty pink dress and old lady hat on this toon.
I think you are just suffering from the fact that the game is just not balanced well at all levels any more.
Your best bet is to just power level up to 60 and then start getting more serious into dungeons and BG’s. Before that the damage outputs are just awkward. Like you said PVE doesn’t do crap at low lvls, and healing in PVP feels subpart at low levels. I encourage you to stick with a priest. I’ve healed on 3 different characters pretty seriously and priest has been my most enjoyed one.
I’m a bit off of PvP class balance and stuff currently, i simply don’t care about pvp anymore.
Grats on first post.
Most healer mains love healing because we like taking care of our group and helping them succeed. It’s a very real personality type that gravitates to support roles. There are few of us who would want a “totally screw over one of my teammates” button just for kicks and giggles.
Killing one of your teammates intentionally doesn’t make healing more interesting. It just makes you rude and counterproductive. I’ve already told you how to make healing more interesting, but I don’t think you’re actually interested in that tbh.
My calling people bonus week bads isn’t 1/10 as ironic as you calling someone a troll.
Been a while since you’ve leveled a toon, eh? The health of the mobs and bosses is a lot higher than it used to be, and bosses go through phases multiple times that hadn’t been seen in years.
Lower level dungeons shouldn’t be epic.
