Not justifying what he did but you are making mass assumption here.
The mouse function comes from the legit mouse drivers, and it looks like mouse drivers to Warden.
Heck Blizzard used to even sell these mice in custom expansion logos

If he was repeatedly AFKing, and reported and observed repeatedly AFKing, and the GM said he was getting punished for repeatedly AFKing, then i would take it at face value and stop adding assumptions.

He is not the 1st person to be actioned against for AFKing constantly in a BG.

You realize they do not have some magic wand to wave and make it all go away.
They have to go, in person, investigate, then punish.

Exactly how many people per day do you think they can go through?
