"I think we overestimated how many people loved Pandaren."

I’ve seen others, but it is what it is. They don’t bother to try countering me. I was there when the scrolls were written. I don’t take expansion long breaks and then try and talk like I know what the frick I’m talking about.

Just plain laughable. MoP wasn’t a “warcraft enough” expansion. Stupid stupid take.

Well, if you consider yourself an arbiter of standards of purity…

Whatever version of BC we got would be a completely different expansion. This idea you have in your head that somehow we would get the same BC but with Pandas wasn’t going to happen. I don’t understand what is hard for you to get about that. Like, Blizzard designs expansions such that everything ties together.

Early in production, in pre-production thry decided they couldn’t do Pandas. And then from there they built Burning Crusade.

I like the dual wield animations panda has.

I actually kinda like their stealth animations.

Come to think of it, I also think male orc has the best stealth animation, so I might just be odd.

Ummm…what’s wrong with Pandas?

I also enjoy many aspects of the Pandaren.

But I understand the difference between a person liking Pandaren, and looking at data that tells you that People are not loving them.

You are the one making assumptions on what BC would, or would not have been if the Pandas had been put in as multiple Blizzard developers have said on video and written that they were intended to be.

I have no idea in my head to what BC may or may not have been, because it does not matter in any way to the discussion which as you say, I don’t understand what is so hard for you to get that.

You said Mists was not warcraftian/metzian, Metzen on video disagrees, saying Pandarens were originally going to be put in as early as BC, and that they really wanted to put them in, and their vibe was Warcraft, straight up, with other developers confirming the BC timeline, and hence they and their expansion is Warcraftian and Metzian.

So again, what is so hard for you to understand about that?

I mean we’re all opinionated blowhards. I have a friend who quit at the end of Cata not wanting to humor MoP believing it too was just pandering to asian culture and too childish for their tastes. They admitted they lost out once they came back and got to play through it.

Like I’m very critical about DF and the narrative. I find this entire expansion premise to be total nonsense and I have minimal respect for it as a story, but I have fun playing with my peeps and can divorce the story and it’s many shortcomings from the gameplay (which I still find lacking in long term sustainability but oh well).

But trying to state MoP had no faction focus? That goes beyond opinion and into the realm of just being factually wrong.

Yeah this is why I switched over to running female panda characters. They look absolutely fantastic in any mog you can find in this game that I have crossed so far. I’ve even got some of my female pandas and old classic transmog sets that look fantastic

Yeah, I think my memory just took 2005-2015 and threw it all into a blender. I have trouble remembering it’s a whole decade and not a single year.

I’d be more inclined to play them if they had better proportions for the armor models in game. Where most were just texture overlays for years before they started adding things like belt buckles, they look horrible.

With how many vulpera I see around and how much focus there is on mog - I think it’s just a poor implementation of the race. If they saw a model overhaul and maybe a few updated animations I think people would give them another try.

The Tauren are cows

I don’t take Tauren seriously either. Last time I played one was before TBC launched and never could get into it.

But I mean at least Tauren have a bit of mythology behind them, minotaurs have been a mythical monster going back ages, doubt there are many cases of people trying to make a serious creature out of pandas. Could be wrong but I doubt it.

Well they’re bears. And the Panda region isn’t in the western world. So maybe they have plenty of mythology that is in Asian countries.

Just saying I can’t speak to it and when I hear “pandas” I think about silly bears bumbling around and falling out of trees, when I hear “Tauren” I think of the minotaurs in an AD&D dungeon that left a few of my characters as smears on the wall.

But I still don’t really have any interest in them. Have never been attracted to anthropomorphic animals as characters.

I will give credit where its due, the pandaren (specifically females) have absolutely gorgeously unique animations.

It sucks that theres only one good hairstyle though. So every pandaren (i think of them as all female so im not gonna specify from hereon out) all runs that one ponytail eoth the bangs with the colored streak.

As a PvPer, I thought MoP was one of the best expansions. The only form of PvP I disliked was RBGs but that was because there was so many cheaters

I think Pandaren are fine. Even by then there were races that were goofy

I actually like that they included them, I just think they leaned a little too hard into Kung-Fu Panda.

I loved that movie, but that isn’t actually what I wanted from Pandaren.
