I think they need to up the difficulty of this game. Went from new toon to full portals/AOTC in a week

The issue imo is largely in part to the gearing changes. WoW has always been built in such a way that as you gear up the content becomes easier. That alongside rolling nerfs over time make it so people can clear content that aren’t always directly relating to skill but instead just means you aren’t in questing greens anymore.

I much prefer Guild Wars 2’s style where you get your gear once then do the new content, but the issue with that is that a majority of players can’t do even semi challenging content due to the complexity of the combat system, so they have to make a majority of content easy mode. So both vertical and horizontal progression game styles have their unique issues.

With WoW as it is now though, making it so you can be in full near bis this easy in a vertical progression game means the challenge has shifted to higher and higher levels of content compared to in the past since power progression was timegated.

That and the tuning of the dungeons feels very weird. It goes from “everything is fine” to “well that just one shots you now” pretty sharply at a higher level key than before. I think that has to do with them trying to bring old dungeons into current design but that’s a whole other ball of thread to unravel.
