I think Legion will be the next Remix

Just a prediction.

I also think that the Mage Tower artifact appearances will come back in that Remix, either as the originals or as a new coloring, but same model.

Some might be unhappy but from a financial standpoint, it makes total sense for Blizzard. Legion was an awesome expansion and a lot of folks would be clamoring to go back there, especially for the MT looks.

Doubt it, itll prop be Shadowlands honestly or Dreanor

MoP: RemiX was an internal test for the Devs of Remix and SoD to compare and contrast results of actual fun gameplay vs. not. What did we want to do right after classic and then hardcore classic? Oh, yeah… Classic, with a twist! MoP Remix is exactly what SoD should and could have been. But nooOoOOo, they would just need to hard cap everyone in PvP for power scaling. But let a freakin Resto Druid 1 shot Ragnaros in a for fun mode like SoD, who really cares?

They won’t. They strictly said, mage towers rewards(in their legion form) were going away after legion and rewards would never come back. Yes you can do the challenge again but never again for hidden artifact appearances.

As I understand it MoP happened to have a unique confluence of things:

1. Lots of unused looks that were created back then but never put in game, they spent money and never utilized the assets so remix was a way to spur player activity with transmog rewards that cost them nothing new because the work had already been paid for. Any additional work was just doing recolors of those previously unobtainable as well as actually obtainable options which I assume are probably fairly quick and easy.

2. The models for weapons/armor are recent enough that they don’t look awful in 2024, older expansions there are real issues with pixelation and low fidelity.

3. MoP had rare toys and pets available from timeless isle which many players never got, they could put these on vendors and people who’d given up farming would want to get them this way.

4. MoP had several world bosses (and a couple raid bosses) with ultra-rare mount drops that likewise many people never saw drop despite years of farming. Putting those on a vendor for currency also spurred interest.

5. MoP was a positively received expansion by it’s mid-point and is looked on very fondly in retrospect.

6. Self-contained continent that prevents players from leaving or interacting with others outside the event. (This is why Cata timewalking would probably be very difficult as a sell even not considering other points given all zones are part of other continents but why WoD, Legion, BFA could all be technically feasible without serious worry of escape or breakout)

Points 1, 3, 4 are very important because they mean Blizzard could do it for very low cost using existing assets with a few tweaks. Blizzard is unlikely to divert their art and design teams to create new weapon and armor models for another Remix so any candidate needs a meaningful amount of weapon and armor models that were made but never put in game and/or recolor possibilities that don’t look like vomit. They also need other draws such as rare mounts/pets/toys that players can buy for event currency which people cannot easily farm.

Legion and BFA certainly have certain amounts of rare low drop-rate mounts/pets/toys but less than MoP. Though if they include raid mounts like G.M.O.D. they’d have a fairly good draw there on that alone for BFA. Legion though to my recollection wasn’t very strong for rare raid mounts that are considered desirable (whereas up until Remix launch people were still after things like Huolon, the Celestial elegon mount, Nalak’s mount, Oondasta drop, etc).

I’m just not sure there are any possibilities that don’t end up with half the rewards of MoP remix without Blizz putting in some serious money and dev time. Enough for end of expac doldrums to get people some rare things they want? Sure. Enough to leave people happy farming for 3 solid months for it all? Not a chance. Needs to enable a lot of people to finish up in a third that time.

Can’t even keep the current MT working (it has a ton of bugged fights due to wack scaling) and you want them to have another remix with legion of all the expansions…

I think Legion is a good candidate for sure.

I don’t see them doing anything earlier than MoP. Game started getting flooded with collection items around then and so anything earlier will feel a lot emptier in comparison when it comes to what you can get.

Oh there are tons of items from vanilla no longer in the game and their SOD stuff did not really work for unlocking them. So I would not be suprised if they do a Classic Remix at one point.

Ofc. it would be a slap in the face of those who played back then and raided Naxx, if now everyone could just LFR it or farm the raptor and tiger in ZG.

I never liked Legion, so I would not like to see it again. WOD would get my vote, it was a great expansion and with some love they could fix the content drought it had towards the end.
