I think it's time blizz added color sliders to the game

At this point wow might be one of the rare mmos out there with very little customizations options when it comes to races.

I think blizz should just add color sliders to the game.
It would just be for hair, eyes, and skin color.
and with skin color the sliders dont have to be rgb. they could be a predetermined color range. that way there isnt pink humans running around lol

I agree. Also add dyes for armor and clothing.

Would be cool but that’s an awful big ask for their dev team.

Every skin would need a new layer on top of make adjustments to the machine.

Dyes would mean they’d have to make more models instead of offering 4 different colors of the same model for different difficulty levels.

That’s development time for more models, which isn’t gonna happen.

Dyes also mean that 90% of the players will walk around in monochrome outfits. One of three:

  • All-White (stormtrooper)
  • All-Black (darth vader)
  • All-Pink (my little pony)

Would be worth a shot for humans, dwarves, gnomes, and elves.

Well, if it was as easy as, Hey. I have this idea and, bam, it works, We’d have it by now.

Alas it is not

This is a big ask… but I want to see it happen someday.

they already said they cant/wont do it.

actually color sliders for character customizations are fairly easy too add. most tutorials in most engines are like a twenty minute process lol and this doesnt interfere with other aspects that can affect your character like transmog and what not

now adding sliders to adjust your character’s size like height or weight is a completely different animal to tackle. they struggled adding in kul tirans because it was a different skeletal rig and they then had to retroactively add all old transmog to get them to work.
they gave up on getting mogs to work on dracthyr because their wings were interfering with mogs.

Try adding one of those into a game that’s twenty years old. With a gear graphic system that isn’t conducive to such things. Spread that out over thousands of pieces of gear.

But yeah it’s totally twenty minutes

Lol

whos talking about gear?

i only said color sliders for hair, eye, and potentially skin color. that would not affect gear at all

So the things nobody looks at because you have to zoom in to see them and people are covered up with armor anyway?

No, but it does affect tattoos, scars, shading, etc on all of that. And it’ll look horrible.

or all blue…

Blue Man Group becomes Blue Shaman Group

Body slider. Color dyes. Optional tails. Hide weapons on non combat. More /sit and /stand options. Left vs right hand casting. Straight backs. Hide hair/ears on helms. And the list goes on
