I think I'm done with MMOs

After playing Hogwarts Legacy, it hit me MMOs are no longer fun although I would have liked to play HWL with a couple buddies but I can definitely deal without all the random whackos that inhabit MMOs. It costs more to play single player games but the enjoyment you get out of a good one is worth it. Random interactions aren’t what they were back in older online games. Now it’s a cesspool I can do without. All my friends that played wow are gone. I think my MMO time has come to an end. Nothing personal against Blizz but these games are no longer magical like they once were. I deleted my battlenet account once. I don’t think I’ll go that extreme this time but I wont be logging in regularly. Peace out champions.

Cya fellow gamer…
I’m not surprised, there is a more enjoyment of a proper single player game that has a finish. WoW’s community is like a needle in a haystack, hard to have fun, good interactions, … the stuff to do is very lackluster … and it’s a really lame hamster wheel that keeps going. There was always potential but the team just can’t stop repeating the same stuff.

I feel the same. If HWL had multiplayer, I don’t think I would stop playing it ever lol. WoW just feels like it has lost its luster. I am finding less and less reasons to even log in.

Can I have your Valdrakken Renown

Not sure why, but despite really enjoying the world of Harry Potter, I have never been able to really get into playing any of the games and have zero interest in the new one.

The new Zelda game on the other hand… I’ll definitely snag that and play the heck out of it. I won’t stop my sub or delete my account or anything like that. I will for sure return to the game. However I play incredibly casually so it’s a lot easier for me to hop in and out of the game at a whim.

Hope you have fun with the game, and almost more importantly, that the game has really good replay value!

Peace. Nothing wrong with knowing where your happy place is and going there.

Sadly, I cannot exit this MMO called The RL. Raids are actually a bad thing. PvP gets you in jail. Everyone is just a human…maybe gnome…maybe Kultiran.

But we’ve had player housing since the beginning.

its fine if you are done with it. I just had a really fun time pvping and exploring the new expansion, even with my guild we did a raid last night and almost downed raszageth. It can be a bad time, but it can also be a good time it is random who you encounter in this mmo space. single player games are fun too I get that, but the magic in WoW is still there whether if its in classic or retail just depends on how much effort you put in honestly.

There is no real magic playing something I played 15 years ago lol

Not everyone has player housing, some people aren’t willing to quest in order to be able to afford a place to stay. Instead they just wait on that gov’t battlepass.

WoW in meantime did change a lot. Its really not the MMOs in general I think, but much rather ion and his esport insanity which have practically become the number one prio of this game by now. Every single expansion we kept sacrificing things that made the gameplay overall more enjoyable for everyone.
Really just compare the experience you got in Legion or even BFA and what you get now. Ofc there will be some ppl who like this worklike overly competitive feeling, but I think its clear where did it led us by now to everyone, but ion.

Why run from the wackos when you can run WITH them?

Huh?

MMO’s are vastly outdated, if Riot’s League MMO doesn’t absolutely knock it out of the park I suspect the genre will more or less be stunted for the foreseeable future. They can’t seem to keep up and they always go vastly overbudget and end up failing. We’ll see.

I still enjoy instanced, focused content in mmos. But yeah for everything else single player games do it better.

New Pokémon games were faux mmos, idk if that is something worth checking out, still can do single player. Some points here are valid. I miss the older days sometimes. Perhaps a break is needed.

you won’t say that with throne and liberty and ashes of creation

in fact I do think ncsoft is a fantastic mmo company.

the gw1 and 2 are exceptional, and gw3 is being planned.

throne and liberty is looking to be what new world was supposed to be.
