I think I may have figured out the jailer

I believe that the Jailer lets us come and go because

  1. doesn’t care/believe that a puny mortal could ever harm him.

  2. Remember the intro into SL when we escape, he comments “interesting”.

So we are new and unusual. We were the first ones “ever to escape the maw”. So he is doing what he has done with Jaina, Thrall and Baine. Testing us. Torghast is nothing but a test of us puny mortals.

We are like a new toy for a cat. Interesting. Look out when we get boring…

I don’t think he feels threatened by us, but at the same time, we were able to activate an ancient relic made by the First Ones that allowed us to escape the domain he is trapped in. He’s interested in us enough to keep his eye on us, and when he sees we’ve been causing a little too much trouble, he tries to kill us.

His siblings didn’t make it. It’s a relic left behind by the First Ones. I doubt even they know how to use it.

Ah I could have sworn the leaders of the realms we go to were called that at one point.

Forgot they’re the Eternal Ones. Whoops

Maw Walker is the term used by inhabitants of the Shadowlands to refer to adventurers (player characters), who are able to activate the waystone[7] thanks to their unique connection to Azeroth’s world-soul.[8] There are canonically multiple such heroes

I’m thinking that has to do with the Heart of Azeroth and I do think they said that in the past prior to SL launch .
