I think all damage addons like Recount Details

Exactly, but how do people that don’t want it opt out? stop telling me how to play the game.

I care about logs.

I wouldn’t invite you into my groups.

No one is. Dont use it

Then you don’t use it since it can affect me.

You tried. You really did! A for effort friend!

I have a feeling addons are going to be getting some much needed attention.

just don’t use them stop crying about addons .

They did that with Rift

The community simply used an overlay out of game combat log parser to make dps meters, also didnt stop the community from being Elitist or anything.

You’re asking for a change that goes against the core design of WoW, this game was developed with Addon support in mind from Alpha.

I don’t need an invite. I run with my guild.

Remember, your right ends where the next person start.
If you don’t wanna use such tools, don’t. But stop trying to imply your way of playing to others.

It’s honestly toxic to expect people to treat you like a friend when you’re just a random person.

me enjoying parsing or trying to do better doesn’t hurt you…

When raids are on farm and people have nothing left to do, why are we limiting their progression or enjoyment?

and yes, I usually see a correlation with parses and progression. It is just how it works, generally those with higher parses and those who care about parses, will care about clearing the raid and doing whats needed to get it done.

You do not need to play with anything related to warcraft logs or details/recount. That is up to you and who you choose to play with.

Haha you didn’t hear? The Golden Rule has been updated, it used to be 'treat other people the way you want to be treated" Terrible rule, nice people being nice to everyone jerks being jerks to everyone,

The new version is 'Treat people the way they treat people"

You guys can redefine toxicity any way you want, but you don’t come off as happy and fun. You come off as angry and bitter.

I agree and disagree just block logs, I like seeing my damage but I dont go out of my way to tell players they’re doing terrible damage but I definitely can see if someone might underperform and I just go “oh” and move on :joy:

Then buff BM hunter? tackle the ACTUAL problem instead of Everything around the problem.

Its like if my electric socket went out and i threw my tv away thinking it would fix the problem…

Why? its a great tool for RL’s to figure out whats wrong with their raid, And to help DPS improve.

I’m having a blast and having a lot of fun in this season.

I even got a 95 parse last night… I slept super well.

Details and Logs are invaluable sources of data for me as a raid leader. Sure on easier content like dungeons or bfd, use of these types of tools are kinda cringe. Like, just kill the things.

However on harder and more chaotic encounters they become almost essential for progress. When im checking Logs, I 'm not looking at who’s parsing what color or what number is bigger. I’m looking at why people died, whether or not people are target swapping, are dispells happening, are raid buffs like battle/commanding shout falling off, exactly who pulled threat off the tank, and a million other things to address so that next week goes even smoother.

Going into an encounter and dying over and over while making zero progress and not knowing what we’re screwing up doesn’t sound like fun. If anything, without analysis tools, I would be MORE selective and elitist in my raid comp decisions not less.

No… It’s a double edged sword and I am not denying it leads to parse culture BUT damage meters are a useful tool to figure out where struggles might be happening (Damage meters are not just used for DPS ya know?)

Allows you to see who is or isn’t interrupting. How much effective / over healing is happening. How dispells are being handled. How much damage everyone is taking (Hmm, why does a mage have more damage taken than a tank… oh, they are taking damage from standing in the fire!)

It’s a good resource for tracking a lot of information that may be causing wipes in your encounters, incredibly low DPS is just one metric that is important to troubleshooting where problems are coming from.

I agree but we all know this will never happen. It does bring you back to when everything was fresh and no one knew what meta was, though. Some of the best experiences ever created in gaming history. Just figuring stuff out with the squad you had

You only say that because you legit grey parsed Naxx lol
