Choosing to not be social from garrison was a player choice. sit iin there…talk in chats was always an option. See I come from eve. I can be in some remote parts of space where I actually want to not physically see people there. THey are cutting into my pve profits. Or…they are potential threats I have to worry about.
eve has many universal channels, corp chat, alliance chat…or you make rooms to have friend circle chats. I am in a wormhole, chatting away with people not even within 30 systems of me.
True, people weren’t in Org or SW to fill up its chat with all that “quality” chat. ah, we have the meeting of the not political scientists, they just RP them in game. Badly too.
some in garrison were social. in stuff like discord.
The irony of this game. the game people say are anti-social, there is the only known and easy to find chat is universal, /4. Which is to find groups. I recall in 2019 day when the lfg police were in force.

Ignore him and…okay now its gdkp. ignore them…/4 cleared up, no almost no chat. at least until gdkp posters logged off to fire up the next post alt. since they worked out we blocked them lol.
You are aware this is exactly how housing works in like every MMO but 1 or some crap right? Placing your house wherever in the world doesn’t work for a highly populated MMO.
Have more than 1 locale to choose where your house is? Yes. More are coming. They’ve told us as much. It’s launching with 1 area per faction that matches the appearance of ~2 zones (per faction).
This is expected and not a bad point against Housing at all.
The point of housing is the customization within the system, not total freedom to place down roots wherever the hell you want.
Exactly. It wouldn’t even be true if you completely ruled out decorating the inside of the house entirely and only focused on the outside. It’s still more involved then Garrison’s ever were
I never asked for player housing and I’m probably not going to do much with it. However I am impressed with everything they’ve done and I’m glad those who wanted it get to experience it. I will completely explore the horde neighborhood though and I’m extremely impressed by it.
The alliance neighborhood just seemed so Bland but each new area of The Horde neighborhood feels new different and unique
Player Housing doesn’t work for me for a few reasons:
I would just go play Project Zomboid or Fallout 76 for building. Both have a way more robust house system with actual game play mechanics like farming and survival type stuff like temperatures and weather and enemies, etc. WoW will have literally ZERO of any of that. Your house is basically a gigantic decoration sitting there with no functional utility.
No one talks in this game. There is no social anything at the moment. It’s literally an instanced lobby game and people have said this left and right daily. So you’re taking a gigantic ornament and plopping it down in a game where people don’t even interact with each other.
So basically housing is supposed to be the spark that gets all the players mingling with each other?
What are the chances you will see a Mythic raider in a house? 1 out of 900? What are the chances you’ll ever play with a top 100 player in this game, zero? It’s laughable. They haven’t been able to get everyone to play together since Legion and Titanforging.

Exactly. The number of examples of games that already have exceptional base building is very high. I’m sure it will be a big hit for some but like… I know it will be under supported and under delivered, and it will also be a huge timegated / grind because everything they design now is, so why bother when I have dozens of other games with fleshed out building ready to go right now. It’s not what I play WoW for. Great for the people that want it but prepared to be in the same position the pet battle players are in now, invest hundreds of hours into something that will sputter out into their next stat squish or the dance studio or some other garbage. Ask me how I know.

the garrison had an AH to keep AH goblins inside all day…housing wont.
The garrison didnt have THOUSANDS of items to farm for it out in the game world…housing does.
