I shouldn't need 4 full action bars to heal

Exactly… every thing about wow is BLOATED. The number of abilities and mechanics are completely out of hand.

While true, this shouldn’t be needed.

I actually am glad we can have 6 action bars now. I love making macros and using every spell in my spellbook. I have been requesting more action bars for years now.

It’s the exact opposite for me. FFXIV has button bloat and with no real options for healing addons like Vuhdo or Healbot I had 4 bars of stuff I had to click/macro. With WoW I have 1 bar of actual button press heals/macros and the rest I use Vuhdo and I have no issues at all.

However, healing is fundamentally different in WoW from FFXIV. Healers seem to be more impactful in WoW where in FFXIV I feel like it was large expected damage spikes every once in a while followed by long periods of little to no damage. I feel like WoW has much more healing intensive fights that require longer periods of actual healing (with things like rot damage going out constantly). Of course I haven’t played FFXIV since the last expansion so maybe it’s changed?

That’s why I recommend using HealBot or VhuDhu for healer interface and use a mix of both .

Yeah, that’s why I feel like healing in WoW is so much more stressful and why at this point I just refuse to do it anymore. Especially since this expansion has so much unavoidable AoE. Just constantly running through the decision tree with little to no downtime and feeling like I’m in panic mode. I also feel like (at least on Prevoker and Shaman) I have few options for a big ST burst heal without hitting multiple sequential abilities (I really don’t like the Echo mechanic on Prevoker) when someone makes a mistake. All I do is babysit health bars.

In FF14 the damage is more predictable and the burst option feel a lot better. I dunno, I just can’t stand WoW healing at this point. It’s been that way since Cata when they shoved mana management and multiple spell variants onto healers and made it over-complicated in my view. After playing FF14 I can’t fathom the logic of making the healer the most complicated and stressful job (healer and tank are significantly easier than DPS in FF14). IMO it is 90% of the reason for the constant healer shortage in WoW and is a big factor in the massive amounts of toxicity in random groups. The only one I feel like I can handle well is MW, but like I said, I hate the monk aesthetic and fist-weaving can diaf.

Clearly these kids dont pvp and have no idea how to actually play… im using 6 actions bars and its not enough at times.

How is that exaggerated? Between heals damage, utilities, personals, consumables any other number of other abilities that are key to succeeding at the top end of content. You can easily fill 4 bars on most classes now it’s honestly a bit much.

Every primary healing spell I have is going to my mouse… Everything else is utility.

This made me laugh way to hard. The spell of all spells right there.

Have a group of 4 friends you do M+ with? Then sure, you can heal with 1 button and no bars and be blind folded and drunk.

Don’t have friends to play with and have to solo pug all content? Then yes, you need 10 bars, 10 addons, 10 mouse over macros, 10 hail marys, 10 shots of liquor, etc.

But the fake playerbase won’t make this distinction because they try and sweep everything under the rug with this game.

Very true. I play both, but I can def say that disc just feels lackluster despite having nearly as many buttons. But it could just be this week’s affixes

You get the spells slowly and learn as you level up.

I’m glad the first couple posts are immediately calling BS. Because, yeah, this is absolute BS.

Dude. I had no idea this was possible. I love you. Thank you for posting this. I was so overwhelmed by my Druid I shelved it. This will make it so much easier.

Any other macros or other insights that will make it easier for a new healer?
