PvP in this game is an afterthought, always has been, always will be. You should probably get over it.
k, I mean gl with that. Anyway, I ranked 13 in vanilla, never raided, and had no trouble competing against raiders in pvp. Anything else?
vanilla is quite diff from SOD. the spell power dmg or healing gear in BFD is equal to lvl 60 or DM level gear.
Nah, I like that you can get pve bis from pvp and pvp bis from pve. Makes the world feel bigger. And also - come on, itās not that hard from either side.
True, and it will be interesting going forward to see how they change level 60 gear. In the meantime tho, pvp focused players should have a parallel gearing system that keeps up with raid gear per phase.

Well, classic isnāt for everyone. Thatās fine you donāt like classic pvp gear progression. Itās probably not as popular as pve gear progression. But rankers who enjoy pvp gear progression are a sizable demographic that shouldnāt be needlessly alienated and made to become every three day raiders.
However, if raiding is the sole means to progress gear, a group finder for dungeons and raids will be necessary, at the very least.
I mean, I would honestly agree with this. While I do enjoy both types of content, I prefer PVP due to time constraints and not being able to commit to a raiding schedule any longer (though still hoping i can at least complete the BFD raid in the next few weeks).
Playing devilās advocate, this is still new for all of us, including the devs, so its likely that some situations such as this got overlooked, and could maybe work their way into SoD soon? A polling system for changes like this would be helpful, because classic was never level capped (or pvp rank capped) prior to max level, allowing players to get to max level from dungeons or questing and then get their pvp gear without having to rely on raiding. I feel this would be an amazing addition to include more pvp-oriented gear and rewards.
I also donāt understand why anybody would want to be against this idea, as it doesnāt harm anything; not nerfing any more hunter pets (huehue), locking anybody else out of gear, or altering the WOW timeline in a sense that would have a negative impact.

Nah, āyou sit in your little corner while I sit in my little cornerā is how you diminish both. Currently on retail iām a pvp-only boi. And Iām kinda bored of it atm. I wish I had impactful gear for pvp in pve so there was a reason for me to go into these modes. Especially if it was not sweaty - like in the normal/heroic raids. I tried out pvp in the first place BECAUSE it was essential for raiding at one point. Friction and quirks aināt always bad.
Well, like I said, if you donāt like classic, I get it. But in classic, fundamentally, there are two parallel gear progression routes. There are a lot of players who much prefer ranking to raiding. Alienating them is a bad idea. If you like raiding, then just go do it. āstop liking what I donāt likeā isnāt really a valid argument tho.
Last I played retail was shadowlands and even in that you had to raid to get some of the legendaries.
This is a pve game. Idk what to tell you. This raid is brain dead easy and I cleared it on my priest 4 hours after hitting 25 last week. And now I main tanked it on my pally and cleared it in 30 minutes. No discord, no consumes, no planning.
There are tons of mobas out there that can fulfill the pvp only gameplay you want. Wow is definitely not it.

Gearing through PVE for PVP makes as much sense as killing PVE bosses in a WPVP event.

The ironic thing here is you actually kill a boss like that being PVE in an open world PVP.
I completely agree with you. Wow was not a pvp game in classic or any other iteration.
Theyve never been bothered to balance pvp rewards equally with pve rewards
Theyve never bothered to match-make pug vs pug and premade vs premadeā¦other pvp games do, but Wow does not.
Changes they made to AV in classic turned it into a PVE race where both factions avoid each other and race to kill npcsā¦ok.

The best gear in the game is from raiding. Not only that. But now they are gatekeeping the pvp gear ensuring it is always the weakest gear at every phase to obtain.
I enjoyed pug BGs more than anything in this game for yearsā¦up until pandalandā¦thats when i finally quit.
I understood i had to raid to get the gear to enjoy the pvp moreā¦but nowā¦20 years laterā¦im done. Im not chasing through grinding mobs in the world for mats for runes so i can be competitive, i dont want to deal w more and more raids for gear, and im not facing endless premades in hopes of having one fair match out of ten.
My threshhold for tolerance of doing stuff i dont want to do, in order to have an equal footing in the pvp part of this game has been reached.
If you want to pvp, and focus on that, sadly this is not the game. I love the genre, (dnd player from way back) however its obvious they arent changing their tune. So my tune is now Taps. Lol. Im done.
If you consider grinding mobs for runes a chore, running raids mostly a chore, then you are spending so much of your time in SOD doing things to be competitive in pvp that you are better off finding something else to do w your time. At least thats where im at. Good luck and hope you find something fun to play. I get more enjoyment from rocket league at this point than this game anymore. Say what u will. 20 years of the sameā¦im done w obstacles to having the pvp fun in this game.

PvP is the real end game of Classic. It would trivialize all other content if you could just PvP for all your gear from the start.

Welcome to classic. This has always been the case. Play retail if you donāt want to PvE to PvP. I am sorry, that is just how it is.
