I see some possible problems that dragon riding presents (not a complaint about it)

First of all, dragon riding is really fun and enjoyable. I hope it persists for years to come.

Possible problems:

• If Dragon riding doesn’t persist into the next expansion it will feel very bad going back to slow ground mounts + pathfinder.

• If dragon riding DOES persist in following expansions it will make all of the cool mounts we earned pointless outside of old content.

• I don’t believe the community will “enjoy” having to use four mount models that are specific to dragon riding - otherwise use an older mount without the same speed and mechanics.

• It would be almost impossible to update all of the old mount animations to be compatible with dragon riding.

Technically they were always pointless, you’ll get new pointless things to collect. You can always use your slow mounts if you want.

All, yes. But most wouldn’t be that bad. Anything with wings from the last couple expansions would be pretty straight forward, anything without wings would probably not work.

That isn’t going to fix the animations. The wings alternating positions based on the way you’re moving. It’s not that simple. The surge forward animation, turning animation, etc

I see either one of 3 things happening;

1. They remove Dragonriding (excluding in Dragonflight, of course).
2. They redo all mounts for Dragonriding.
3. They say “lol who cares” and just apply Dragonriding to all mounts, regardless of animations.

I imagine 1 will be the case, as it’s the least effort. And, we all know Blizzard, the only path they take is the path of least effort.

The feature is receiving good feedback for the most part. Many content creators and players have said that this is one of the best expansions so far due to the dragon riding.

With the feature receiving this much praise I highly doubt they would be foolish enough to remove it in future expansions.
