I’d much prefer they just put that power back into the classes they took it from.
You want to be creative about something start with making the world more interesting. I get they want to make things for classes each expansion and that’s fine but influence what is, don’t take half of it and sell it as expansion content down the road. That’s a scumbag move.
I disagree, with titanforging it’s all rng. At least you can choose via the vendor which corruptions you want instead of winning the lottery, obviously corruptions were like that until they added a vendor but they never added an ilvl vendor for warforging/titanforging so in that regard I think corruptions better for accessibility.
But yes both are trash systems, I benefited from titanforging very well but I would still prefer both systems to be demolished. For example I came back with a 453 ilvl from BOD, the highest ilvl possible at the time was 455 I believe. My numbers might be off but you get my point, this has happened for multiple tiers since legion for me, max ilvl weps and almost a full set of max ilvl gear so I by far have not been neglected from these systems but I’d rather go back to a BIS list.
4 upgrades options gear can drop with anywhere between 0 and 3 of the 4. Any you don’t get you buy with currency let’s call it vp. First two 5 ilvls each third socket 4th you pick a tertiary stat.

With Titanforging I could get a decent bit of gear on a toon I never played incentivizing me to play that toon more.
Whereas with Corruption I could get a decent bit of gear but was useless on a toon I never played giving me no reason to invest further.
Corruption was a bad idea from day one.
How about neither. Just make gear itself more rare and exciting by not making every piece exactly the same like it was printed out of a spreadsheet document.
Tbh I’d rather go back to vanilla days where it took you 1-3 months to get a single upgrade, made the gear so much more meaningful and worthwhile to acquire. I do believe in the raid or die mentality as well for the best gear in the game although I think m+ can be a decent alternative but I don’t think it should give out rewards better than raiding gear like the weekly cache, I don’t like systems like visions either that you can easily do solo in 15-30 minutes a run as well.
