I really don't understand what Solo players want

Nonsense head-canon that you invented and has no basis in reality.

Hardcore players literally do not care about “casual/solo” players, you aren’t even on the radar.

No one hates you, in my many years of playing wow in various circles I have never once heard “the elite” you often speak of talking ill of anyone else that plays the game for their play style.

This is an insecurity casual/solo players have invented where they believe everyone who is participating in raids or pvp must hate them or make fun of them or mock you behind your back, when the reality is this doesn’t happen at all, they are to busy try-harding to give a damn what some low level quester thinks of them.

What we do hate is coming to the forums and seeing a bunch of noobs complaining because
“this game is to long”
“the mobs take to long to kill”
“it’s to hard to gear”
“gibs me dis”
“gibs me dat”
“why do those people get gear, why doesn’t my world quest give me the same stuff?”
etc etc

In my experience, it’s the casual/solo crowd that does the biggest amount of complaining and hating the game.

I’m gonna be honest i haven’t stay in the forum that much since the new xpac so I haven’t seen those complains.

But like you say stuff like

You literally only mentioned AH play/gathering.

While that’s fine I would be willing to be that a lot people don’t care about playing the AH and if you don’t do that gathering becomes pretty much meaningless.

Like ok you have 375 ilvl and? There is no actual goal or path, nothing you can do to actually challenge yourself solo and wq being biweekly is also a big chunk of daily grind for some people.

I don’t think it’s that hard to understand that not everyone wanna fly around somewhere mindless to gather stuff just to go back and play in the ah. There is nothing wrong with that btw but it’s definitely not for everyone.

I personally have no major complains about DF but this is the first xpac where I’m somewhat seriously lvling an alt like week 1 or 2 because I don’t have anything to do with my main sometimes

Here’s how I am as a solo player:

  1. No guild.
  2. Never talk.
  3. Open world without a party.
  4. Solo Q everything.
I’m slowly trying to get use to the pre-made group thing for certain stuff since some shards are empty but even then if I see groups there, I just follow. Still don’t talk in parties and leave like everyone else. 99% time I’m silent. I just wanna do things on my own time without pressure from others. I just wanna play, don’t want talk or friend no one tbh lol.

I can’t speak much for everyone else, but the only thing I would like is for them to stop gating the release of LFR.

As of right now from the dungeon journal LFR drops between 376 with the 385 gear not dropping until next year.

My evoker is already 374 from doing random rares, dailies, and the primal storms.

By the time LFR fully releases, except for tier, the gear will essentially be either the same or slightly better for the very rare pieces (like the rings and evoker staff).

Players on the forum mostly just want to complain. Thankfully the forum is only but a very small fraction of the real playerbase, the rest of us are enjoying the game.

It’s not that serious, you might need a break from the forum and game if you think like this.

Blizzard need to ask themselves…Is good gear for casuals needed to keep them as customers? All these idiot gatekeepers finding reasons that casuals dont get anything nice cant keep the population numbers up. Blizzard can keep listening to them and watch their servers depopulate or they can act now to keep players engaged.

They will do what they did in WoD. they catered only to the raiders and high end players, made everything else a mob farm than panic as the casuals leave in droves. then rush out the next expantion.

Solo games tend to be sparse on content with very few (and sometimes zero) updates, so it’s not uncommon to completely run out out of content in a few months. Then you need to look for another game, which is not ideal. Games like WoW have a ton of content backlogged, so you can actually play for years without needing to group if you don’t want to.

For myself, I enjoy the multiplayer aspect of WoW, but only with people that I actually know IRL. I find that this GREATLY limits in-game drama.

But since my entire family and friends group (including myself) left WoW due to the flight changes in WoD, I am pretty much solo by default now (when I decide to play WoW).

Nice Post OP.

One could argue, that if you are having a good time/enjoying yourself, it’s not even grinding as much as it is farming. I personally enjoy farming as well.

I’m solo these days and think Dragonflight is quite fun. The issue to me is that it is hard to start doing group content if you want to due to the community gating low ilvl/low experience players. A solution would be to have everything in the group finder and have the game treat normal modes as the meat of things with heroic and mythic still being there but framed as more side activities for the people who want a challenge. Kinda like how FFXIV has Savage and Ultimate but frames it as side content and not THE content everyone should want to do.

I literally don’t believe a word of this post. Not a word.

There’s no way you got 15-16 each rep without hardcore sweating it like others did

What is hardcore to some players is not to others. I got all of that gathering my 500 ore for the day, and crafting shovels in massive to make a nice profit.

Well I’m a solo player now not by choice my guild didn’t bring me to raid even though I was with them since day 1

So I’m not sure what to do besides farm and maybe LFR

wut?
you must be playing a different game.
ive played tons of RPGs over the years and short of a couple trash expansions the solo content in this game is fantastic.
Why would I still be here if it werent?

My issue with grouping anymore is i can hear my teeth grinding the entire time waiting for someone to start slamming the vote kick with a foul mouthed insert therein cuz the tank made a wrong turn or someone else made a mistake.
Ive come to hate players more than i hate anything in the game over the behavior. Theyve ruined my love for healing in 5 mans.

Personally, I feel the game is not only more solo friendly now than before, I also feel that is is more group friendly as well.

You can tell great content when you realized you just ground out something you didnt even realize you were grinding for, lol.
Ive already found myself having done it numerous times in DF so far where I realize I got something I wanted, but unlike SLs and BFA, I WASNT watching the odometer ticking by dot by dot, dreading it every step of the way.
Im having so much fun in DF Im not even paying much attention to the grinding part of it.

I mention if I am not in the mood to gather I grind.

If I miss torgast systems I have rep grind for that, and it is really fast pace. (well for me.)
Key farming also.
Hunts is also a change of pace from top two.

Three ways to farm mobs that is not the same systems.

I also unlocked more treasures in the world and been flying around killing them with rare hunting.

For a release this is pretty darn good for content is it not?
