I feel like ff14 rotations are just not interactive. I play Frost Dk which is basically the exact opposite of how FF14 classes play. Fewer buttons with procs and CDs versus more buttons used in a very rigid rotation.

I have a red mage, which I think is the most interesting class I have tried. I did not play very long, however. I keep coming back to WoW no matter what other MMO I try - again, and again, and again lol
I dont think i would have come back to wow if my fc didnt fall apart at the end of heavensward.
The only reason I don’t play FFXIV is because the graphics and aesthetic suck.
I think the graphics are great. Some of the hair textures are weird but most of the armor sets are pretty bad.
Ffxiv and wow have similar battle systems but their two very different flavors of games. Sad you don’t like it but I think ffxiv is the best game in existence cause I just love the story
I never found the rotation in ffxiv lacking. I just dislike the lack of any kind of mechanical variation. No talents, sets, specs, or any rpg customisation to speak of.
Unless you count being a skimpy animalgirl as satisfying rpg.
You should really try Balance Druid. The essence of the toolkit is so seamlessly similar.

If you’re more into character customisation it had WoW beat for now. I would seriously try that if it’s a draw for you.
Some people keep mentioning the story but… It felt too anime for me. A lot of exaggerated expressions/reactions and sudden mystic babble in the anime style of it.

Also, they are different styles of game. The number of spells doesn’t directly translate to amount of fun here or there for that matter.
The hair styles for hyur are legitimately hilarious.
It was quite the project to make a highlander who didn’t look like a complete moron. But I got it done.

I did try to play FFXIV once again but the gcd is just too much and the amount of spells makes DH look complex.
Story was really meh too.
