I ragequit in an M+ for the first time tonight

It was only a measly +4 Underrot, and I was healing on a more than capable 371 holy paladin alt which I had already healed a +10 in, as well as a few 6-8s, so I figure I can carry my own weight in a 4 no problem and we have this weekly, at least in a 4 I might get something useful.
But this mage in the group from Ragnaros (ofc it’s always ragnaros), just never timewarped on the first boss or either pull of the second boss, which yes, means there was already one wipe.
A warlock never once moved to stop the tick pods on the second fight, then after the first wipe when he was called out, he linked details where he was number 1 with something like 15k dps and the next was a MM hunter with like 14k but always helping with ticks so like, okay, you held still to be barely better? We had a dozen blood stacks on a tank and wiped for you? You’re Affi in M+, you’re already taboo at least use your movement and do mechanics.
Tank accidentally pulls the boss into the next hall heading into third boss by baiting a charge that directions, and bam it reset, and warlock made no effort to help that time and mage probably still doesn’t even know he has timewarp spell.

It just felt like it was me and a hunter shepherding the sheep, but was I too petty?

Sometimes you just need to cut your losses and bolt.

What?! No way! I think you’re just the right amount of pretty!

…Wait… Oh wait… Now I see, right right…

Nah. The lock was basically a clueless DPS baddie and a mage who doesnt TW on either the 1st then 3rd/4th or second then fourth boss is… uh… “unique”.

And a +4, ouch. I’m an odd one though, I only sign up for content I know how to do so I don’t make my teammates want to bail on the first boss…

When I do that I do kinda feel bad about the players like the hunter and the tank though, assuming they were alrite players. I wouldn’t put the blame on you though, you aren’t signing up to have a miserable time with clueless teammates.

Players like that lock who ignore mechanics, then link damage meters really, really irk me though.

Wouldn’t you like to have spied on their group chat after you left…? I bet it was interesting.

For some reason I can imagine that they wouldn’t understand why he left or what went wrong, then hit up group finder for their next teammate/victim lol

Underrot is cancer for many players. Ask my guild, they’ll tell you just how they feel about Underrot :smirk:

Also good for you for healing a +10 at 371 ilvl! That is not something easy to tackle at that item level. Even at 400, reaping is no joke. This week especially with teeming + quaking :weary:

Your first mistake was joining an Azralon/Rag group.

Self proving stereotype, I swear.

As for me, my personal rule is that if we wipe twice on or before the first boss and aren’t pushing 15+ on tyr week, I bail.

Typically, you can tell within the first five minutes of a key how bad it’s going to be.

Low + is LFR basically, why I stick to higher +

Honestly I’m dodging Underrot as much as possible this week. ESPECIALLY lower lvl keys lol. Between the affixes and the weekly event its a recipe for disaster. I’d only do it with people I know.

This is def the truth. I try to avoid these servers at all costs. Iv’e never had a good experience with them… ever

I try not to lump them in together, I had 2 dps bail on an 11 kara key in legion and me, a DH tank, and a mage, both of whom from Ragnaros, still managed to kill the last boss (miserably, but did it).

But tonight felt exhausting.

Thanks! I was actually a few lower when I did it, BUT! It was Monday, so I had to deal with Bolster/skittish, which I find easier to do on low ilvl than teeming/anything. And in any prepared group, reaping isn’t too hard on healing aside from well managed dispels and an initial burst. It was only timed by like 3 minutes, but I definitely felt an enjoyable sense of accomplishment after doing something that type of difficult rather than tonight’s type of difficult haha.

It sounds like bailing is def not something you do on a consistent basis at all, we all get a pass once in a while if we just can’t deal with it that night.

You seem like someone who is afraid to fail.

Petty is coming to GD for validation after the fact.

This is like an irony inception. So much irony I can taste the rust…

I come to GD for everything, it helps tolerate DPS queue times, flight times, even just breaks from whatever I was doing. I was just unsure how other people felt about where the line is drawn on when it’s okay to just give up on a group.

I have never been the first to ditch, ever, and have always advocated an “honoring” system sort of how games like overwatch or league or dota use so people could gauge other’s sportsmanship instead of just their progression like IO, so while not looking for validation, I was looking for other perspectives by comparison.

I have my share of failed keys that I never left. Probably as many or more than I have timed.
Like I said, this was my absolute first time that I was the one who left a group first, leaving it to fail.

Couldn’t have said it any better.

Underrot is a weird instance. Can go super quick and easy but it can also break bad instantly.

It’s got a lot of deadly and unclear mechanics which you can pretty much ignore in heroic so there are a lot of people that just don’t know it well.

Rage is good op :+1:

Nope some things are just not worth the effort. I mean you made it to the third boss not like you didnt try and hang in there
