I quit WOW because of Achievements: Read to find out why

I recently canceled my WOW subscription because of the current achievement system. In this essay, I will be discussing what I don’t like about the current achievement system and how you can make it better for players like myself.

I consider myself a casual but serious player. My primary focus is playing the game by myself and also in 5-man dungeon groups. Unfortunately, I don’t have time for raiding due to my personal schedule. This means I will never be able to complete the many raiding achievements in the game. This is very frustrating to me because I’m an achievement completionist at heart. I can’t stand seeing uncompleted achievements that I will never be able to accomplish. This is why I canceled my subscription to WOW Classic WOTLK.

Here’s my suggestion to make the achievement system better and to help you keep more of your subscribers:

  1. Allow all characters to select an achievement profile upon creation of their new character.

  2. There will be a choice between 2 achievement profiles: raiding and non-raiding.

  3. The raiding profile would make all achievements available within the game as it is now.

  4. The non-raiding profile would only contain achievements related to individual and 5-man achievements.

This new achievement system would please all achievement hunters in the game and wouldn’t make anyone feel like they were missing out on certain achievements.

He basically is quitting because he doesn’t have enough time to play the game and collect all the raid achievements and he feels that is not fair.

I don’t know why I am doing the same thing lol.

Well, kinda. It’s a quick way to bring your alt cooking level beyond 300.

I would unsub if I couldn’t do any raids too.

You could just do one or the other set of achievements and pretend like the others don’t exist?

But me thinks this is just a Sunday thread seeking attention and I just nibbled on the bait.

i find it odd that those classic players who show hate toward retail are now going insane for achievements and mounts collecting in classic and even happy about Dungeon plus.

for me it seems that a lot of classic players hate what they’re not used on and they’re clueless about what they wants which makes me think that IF tomorrow blizzard brought retail dungeons+raids and all new bg’s arena into classic and called it classic+ We will find this classic community are more than happy about it the same they was happy about the shop boost which destroy the journey in classic leveling.

If you can’t take ~3h a week to raid, there’s really not much for you in this game I’m afraid. Quitting and finding another game GENRE is your only solution.

Sounds like this game isn’t for you

You can join a casual guild but even still if you are casual you will never be able to get the 5man heroic achievements even if you split the game? Unless you are not a casual and are going hardcore on achievements. That will require better gear and raid gear is gonna be somewhat necessary unless you are exceptional… But it doesn’t sound like it…

When someone has 25,000 achievements, my first thought is they don’t have a life and are a pathetic nerd. You should find a way to live with yourself while not being a completionist. I do some of the raid achievements for old expansions, but don’t worry at all if i am behind others in achievements.

Tl;dr

Can i have your gold?

Even by the standard of this forum this makes zero sense…

“Im a completionist but Im quitting because I dont want completing everything to take any effort.”

Pure unadulterated nonsense. Bu bye. Dont let the door hit you on the way out.

0/10 idea that, once again makes absolutely no sense. And as an OCD completionist wouldnt that still “drive you crazy” because deep down you’ll still know you didn’t do all the achievements. Once again… pure unadulterated nonsense

Sorry, didn’t read don’t care (drdc)…
