Tell me. Can you touch the mount? Can you feel it? Can it give you calories that you need to live like beer and sushi? And I agree, people can spend their money on whatever they want, but I can also share my opinion on a public forum on whatever I want.

But, mainly, the reason I care is because it reinforces crazy prices on stuff that realistically shouldnā€™t cost nearly that much. The whole ā€œwhat do you care what people spend their money onā€ started with horse armor in skyrim, and now look at the state of microtransactions. Itā€™s your exact laissez faire attitude thatā€™s gotten microtransactions to this point. Like you said, itā€™s greedy and dumb. Imagine if that gilded big boy could only be earned by doing stuff in game, instead of buying it with real money? Which, I suppose you could argue that you can earn it by buying WoW tokens with gold, but that just reinforces the real money loop.

If I buy it, itā€™ll be with in-game gold and Iā€™ll wait until December to see how token prices play out. Otherwise, Iā€™ll pay in cash obtained by harvesting organs from poor orphan children.

Average casual is pulling in 3-5million gold per month now this is not a stretch if you do not want to pay real money for it.

So? The grizzly was $25 with repair/sell junk and transmog and I use those way more than the AH or mail.

I bought 5m of tokens when they were 200k, bought the mount and then turned the rest of my bnet balance back into tokens to sell for gold when they peaked at 350k so more or less broke even from the whole exchange.

I didnā€™t buy it because everyone and their mom will have one so i never need to mount one anyway lol.

You know, I wasnā€™t super happy about the mount until I put it in that context. Iā€™ve had the original Brutosaur since the first day it was available, but I was always against Blizzardā€™s decision to remove it, and always thought people should still be able to pay the 5 million gold to buy it if they wanted. Iā€™m always against FOMO, and I felt removing it was a mistake and Blizzard should add it back.

Seeing a $90 mount didnā€™t feel good, but when I had someone explain the reverse conversion rate to me, gold into blizzard store cash, I realized that this mount, arguably better than the original Brutosaur (since the infinite mailbox has more value, imo, than repairs, as repairs can be got from a relatively cheap 10k gold mount), Iā€™ve changed my mind. I completely agree that this mount is more or less exactly what people were asking for: a chance to buy the functionality of the Brutosaur. And, it is functionally much, much cheaper in terms of in-game gold than the original Brutosaur, both in terms of total actual gold amount, and especially so in terms of expansion-on-expansion gold inflation.

Consider me a believer now. Blizzard did alright.

That is my thinking too. Going to buy a few tokens once the price stops dropping to bring it more in line with what I want to spend.

As cool as the AH and mail features are, I really just want to roam around on a giant dinosaur.

I have $90 but I decided not to use it for a mount since Dorn has AH and lots of mailboxes. And I am saturated with gazillion mounts and I can only use one at a time.
