I need to disable Alt + Tab + NumPad keys from working. How?

I am having an issue with keybindings. I use Tab to change targets. I use Alt as a modifier to use abilities on another action bar. I use the NumPad keys as my abilities. So if I am trying to use an ability on my second action bar I would press Alt + NumPad key, but sometimes I also use Tab to target at the same time. When I do this I am essentially pressing Alt + Tab + NumPad key which brings up the Alt + Tab menu. I have Alt + Tab disabled through the Windows registry, but it won’t allow me to disable Alt + Tab + NumPad keys shortcuts.

So whenever I accidentally press all three keys at the same time it brings up the Alt + Tab menu. I have tried everything I could find online, but none of it has worked. The only thing I haven’t tried is using AutoHotKey (AHK) to disable the keybindings/shortcuts. I don’t want to install the app and get in trouble. It would NOT be automating anything. It would only be blocking Alt + Tab + NumPad keys from bringing up the Alt + Tab menu.

When I do accidentally press this is brings me out of the game into one of my other open windows which forces me to stop playing and switch back to WoW. During raids and pvp which are so fast, this can result in me not moving or responding quick enough and dying. Can I use it to disable those keys? Or do you have any other suggestions please? It’s driving me crazy. :frowning:

AHK is probably your best option.

AHK will get your account banned if Warden finds it in memory while WoW is running.

It’s possible but I know people who have used it for various things and haven’t had any issues.

Simple solution is to use Ctrl for all your modifier keys instead of alt. That has much fewer hardcoded interactions. Especially if you’ve got that modifier key mapped to a mouse button, swap that and done.

I don’t think it’s possible to change alt-tab without AHK, but you can remap the physical alt key so that pressing it sends ctrl instead.

I always used to disable numlock in the registry, which should be able to do something similar. The official Windows Powertoys app also has a function under i/o > keyboard manager that lets you remap something like L-alt = ctrl and then it’s easier to go in & disable when you want.
